has blizzard announced anything regarding plunderstorm coming back?
i had alot of fun with that game.

I don’t think it should return.
There was too much pvp in it for the pve folks.
And there was too much pve in it for the pvp folks.
In other words, it didn’t really have a dedicated audience. They need to have two plunderstorms. One dedicated to pvp and one to pve. None of this hybrid crap.

No announcements, but they built it, so I would count on it returning at some point. Perhaps a different zone, more Renown levels, etc. I imagine they’ll use it, as well as another Remix, at some point to fill in a content gap.

Even though I didn’t like it, I do believe it was a fun thing for some people.
The only downside i see was the rewards that were useable outside of the event (mounts/pet/mog). Next time they need to either put those rewards earlier in the rep, so people don’t need to grind, or don’t put those in the first place. Make rewards that only useable in the event.
So many many people felt forced to play that game to get the rewards, and I believe that’s where most of the hate for it comes from.

Yup, this was my beef, as a fairly committed mount collector, it sucked to miss out on a bunch of WoW rewards because i wasn’t interested in spending weeks grinding out some nonsense little pvp minigame that had nothing to do with WoW or my characters.
Also, keep that crap out of my character select screen, it’s a separate game, give it its own icon in the Bnet launcher, oh wait… you can’t make everyone download it and be annoyed by the flashing logo every time they log into WoW if you do it that way can you, Blizzard???

that’s not true at all - think the jungler role in league of legends (and LoL is a much much more popular game than any iteration of wow has ever been - except for perhaps the player created DoTA custom game in WCIII).
not all blizzard content needs to be focused on pve players - there were plenty of people who loved plunderstorm

Its a compelled thing to do if it has new wow rewards. It was an awful 0/10 experience.

well if you want the rewards, you made a conscious choice to engage with plunderstorm - you can’t blame anyone for that except yourself.
i LOVED plunderstorm - i played it enough to get the 1,000,000 plunder achieve and kept playing it after that.

It’ll probably come back the next time nothing big is happening in WoW. I had a lot of fun in it. I think it should be a permanent mode.

Idk. Lots of people liked it, I’m sure it’ll return at some point. It was pretty harmless. If they do another renown reward I hope it’s buffed from day 1 though.

I liked it well enough as a side activity but i dont think its something i would want to do all the time.
I could see it working as a once an expansion type of event. But not more than that.

if they made plunderstorm its own separate game mode with a ranked ladder and rewards, a lot of wow pvper’s would play that.

Glad you enjoyed wow’s dollar store BR mode. Most hated it so def not gonna become a popular thing without rewards.
