I had this issue last time Plunderstorm was available and it makes the game mode very unenjoyable. Essentially I’m in OCE connected to OCE realms but my ping is ~165ms instead of the usual ~20ms.
Not sure, but I think they are hosted on the US hardware. It’s not like logging into the game servers if I remember right.
The good news is there are Plunderstorm forums for feedback with a thread already open for input.
Yep, I think that’s the case. It was annoying but understandable when it was introduced - no one knew if it would take off. Still, I didn’t play the mode because I expected it to be resolved next time, given that it was a success and more resources would have been allocated to it. I really would like to play the mode but 160ms in an FPS/third-person shooter is a very bad experience.
