Plunderstorm Feedback

So I tried this new game mode and… it’s fun… for what it is.

I like it in that you can log in, do ten or fifteen minutes and then bounce off to something else somewhere else, which is probably exactly how I’ll use it.

One thing I noticed though;

So I’m one of those weirdos that like to use a controller even for playing WoW. Not for any disability reasons, I have two arms and all twelve fingers, it’s purely for lazy, comfortable, convenient reasons. So I fire up this new game mode and I noticed that, with my controller, I can move my character, but I can’t interact with any of the abilities. And I heard someone on a stream say something to the effect of “WTF? No Keybinds??”

So you’ve got a way pruned down action bar, which would, frankly, be perfect for a controller, but … y’all didn’t implement full controller support with this? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I get it that y’all are keeping the playing field level with this event, and I appreciate that, and to be honest it’s not that big a deal, but there are many who take advantage of controller support because they do have disabilities who are going to go “welp, I’m out.” and that’s not right.

Honestly, I don’t think player custom keybinds and full controller support would be that game breaking to the point of… say… addons and premade overgeared groups, unless I’m missing something.

And this is all based on the idea that I didn’t miss some kind of toggle. I only played for maybe ten or fifteen minutes, enough to get my feet wet with it. If I’m wrong then by all means let me know. If I can use my Dualsense then I’ll probably play this event a lot more.

EDIT:

Udiza was right and in there you can bind your keys to a controller. HOWEVER, Udiza was also right in that this needs to be on the main menu, not while playing the game.

They need to allow keybinding changes and reduce the amount of Plunder needed for each renown level by 500.

I only just now reached Renown 3 since it launched.

You can change them during the pre-match wait by going into options. (It would be nice to be qble to do it at the main menu, though.)

Hey folks, just wanted to drop my two cents on Blizzard’s new game, Plunderstorm. Honestly, it’s a blast to play! The fights are intense with tons of spells and abilities to choose from, so you never feel like you’re stuck with a stale strategy. Every battle feels fresh and exciting.

What really got me hooked is how much there is to discover. The map’s packed with all these tiny details that make exploring fun. You’re always stumbling onto new items or power-ups, which keeps things interesting. Plus, the game’s pace hits that sweet spot - not too long, not too short, just perfect for staying engaged without burning out.

But man, the potential here is huge. The map is awesome as it is, but imagine having different zones or even dynamic maps that change up the gameplay. That’d be epic. Also, a mode for playing in trios would be killer. Teaming up with a couple of friends to take on the world of Plunderstorm? Yes, please!

One thing they could tweak, though, is the auto-attack. It’d be great to see how far your attacks can reach. Sometimes you’re left guessing if you’re close enough to hit your target, which can be a bit annoying.

Overall, Plunderstorm is solid. It’s more than just a game; it’s like stepping into another world. Blizzard’s really outdone themselves this time. It’s clear they’ve put a ton of thought into making this game stand out. Can’t wait to see where they take it from here. If they keep listening to feedback and updating the game, Plunderstorm’s definitely going places.
