Plunderlord's finery swirly lights

I really dig the look of the Plunderlord’s finery in retail, but what is up with the swirly firefly-looking animation? I want to wear the finery for awhile, but not with the dorky lights swirling around my head. So disappointed.

Its attached to the back piece so if you remove that it goes away.
But i agree, its incredibly random to be on a pirate set.

That is great to know. Thanks!

I wanted the swirlies, but not the full set, so I just use the cloak! Like Moritz wrote, it’s the back that adds the swirlies. There are a lot of similar looking cloaks, so should be trivial to find an alternative without the animation.

The swirls are the spirits of those who have met their end and ended up in Davey Jones’ locker. :pirate_flag:

Maybe they’re supposed to be flies? Cause pirates are always at sea, so maybe the smell of salt and fish stick to their clothes and attract them. That’s my best guess but yeah, there should be a version without them.

theyre a recycled cloak effect from the celestial observer set

i quite like the effect but agree there should be an on/off version like we get with DF tier sets

It’s the same effect on the cloak from the Celestial Observer set. Presumably, someone started work on the Plunderlord set by copying some files over and didn’t think to remove it.

it slightly matches the turquoise details on the hat, belt, and choker so i dont think it was entirely unintentional

I’d like to necro this post because IMO these wisps being part of the Plunderlord’s Finery does seem like a bug if not an oversight.

Could we get a version of the cloak without this effect?

I don’t think they are wisps. My theory is they are the souls of pirates that met their end in Davey Jones’ locker. But also they should have had a cloak without that too. Maybe the recolors will.
