Big think here: don’t touch racials
Noob here, what does night elf do with maledict?
If you use Shadow Meld after they use Maledict on you, it negates the damage and doesn’t apply the healing absorb. It uses the old Vanish coding. Back from Vanilla until MoP or WoD, if you used Vanish at the exact time a spell was going to hit you, it would negate that spell entirely. Even spells without travel time, like Blind.
It’s still possible with Shadow Meld, but Vanish just puts you in stealth with the CC/spell applied now.
Ahh, i didn’t think of melding maledict. Nice, meld the first one dispell the second

I would rather see a change towards maledict and not the racial. The NE racial has been this way and is very monumental for the race. Just make maledict avoidable only if players are able to preemptively use NE racial. But lets be honest, I think maledict itself is horrible for the game and should be removed.
Terrible ideas.

undead has fallen behind in racials that’s for sure, that’s what happens when you just nerf everything over and over
In a perfect world racials would just be similar to pvp talents, or have a questline system or something where you can choose and unlearn/relearn different ones. I know at that point it’s not a racial, but nothing in this game makes historical sense anymore so f it. If taurens can be paladins, I think a tauren could figure out how to shadowmeld (they can already turn invisible)
Although then blizzard doesn’t get money from goading people into race changes every 6 months with new stupid items/buffs/nerfs/etc

You could just be lucky and que against a nelf like me who can’t time correctly and get hit by everything anyhow. Rip me
