I mean you can’t get the AOTC without being 120 so that might be the first thing that stops you.

Form your own group and you can set your own standards. In their group they can set theirs

My best advice to get out of this situation is to find a guild, or if you truly can’t do that for whatever reason, just find a progressing pug. It’ll take a while to clear but you can do it. Guilds are the best way to do it though. You’ll get kills, get loot, and best of all, you’ll make friends.

come play ff14, I’ve experienced approximately zero of this ever.

Which is also great cause the lack of it means there’s no one out there stanning for it either.

step 1. hit 120

step 2. join a guild

step 3. ???

step 4. aotc!

You’ve never had someone ask you to link aotc in ff14? Weird…

I think you know exactly what I mean and you’re pretending to play dumb, friendo.

Sounds to me like you’re in the PuG life , friend.

If you’re living the PuG life you are going to have to accept a few things, like groups setting their own requirements.

Ya gotta get out of that PuG life, friend. It’s just dragging you down.
If you have big dreams, don’t let PuG life get in your way. Choose your own path, don’t let your path change because of PuG life . Once you fall into the hole that is PuG life , its very hard to escape . Don’t put yourself in a place where you become dependent and feel trapped by PuG life .

How about you join an organized group, make your own group, or simply join a PuG not asking for AOTC. Those certainly exist, I spot 4+ in the LFG right this moment!

Go do.

I’ve never understood the logic, but I do get that people want groups that know what they’re doing so you don’t spend hours on wipes

Honestly your best bet is to find a guild. I recently found one for the same reasons, and now we’re working on heroic Eternal Palace.

Just find a chill group you can run with and you’ll get to Lord your aotc over all those peasants in no time

should be easy to get in a guild right now on alliance. alliance guilds who want to progress are experiencing shortages for replacements. definitely consider researching for a guild that wants to progress but isn’t already high end raiding. then you can all progress together.

Any group asking for AotC in week1 shouldn’t be in LFG.
So just ignore it and move on.

Some mythic raiders went straight to heroic, cleared it, and are now gearing alts on the side, looking for others in the same boat friendo.

Usually link AOTC means they want somebody to carry them as they have zero idea what to do.

Groups can ask for completion in FF14 and yes they do it, there’s even an option when you make a group that only people that completed it can queue.

First week AotC req’s are dumb, and EP groups will NEVER fill by this point if they ensure the req’s are met.

I mean, as of this post only FOUR guilds have cleared heroic WORLDWIDE.

Impossible for 99% of raiding guild members to even possess at all.

Get over yourself. Pugs don’t exist to teach you encounters and help YOUR progression. That’s what friends and guilds are for.

If you insist on playing without connections, you need to get in there fast and brute force new content for early gear and achievements so you don’t have trouble getting in later.

The alternative is making your own groups, which is totally feasible. The first bit takes the longest, but once you have a few people, it will entice more people to join.

Edit: As a note, I DO think any groups expecting AotC right now are either idiotic or just trolling the group finder. I’m choosing to speak generally about the topic, rather than about week 1 AotC listings.

Exactly, pugs are for farm runs with proven people. Make real friends, OP.

Are we talking about for the new raid? Heroic or Normal?

There is a bit of speculation to be had as there are no details really being given.

If people are looking for a week 1 Heroic and asking for Jaina AotC I can kind of understand that, PuGs this early on when no one has experience (remember you can’t have done it in a previous lock this week outside of normal) would have very little chance of succeeding.

By asking for a recent AotC they stand the most chance of getting people that would potentially be able to get some work done and down a couple of bosses.

If they are asking for normal instead…well I think it’s a bit over the top. But again we are talking about a raid that no one has experience with so having some sort of requirement feels somewhat necessary as you can count on most people not knowing what they are doing.

You are going to be getting quite a few wipes regardless of the quality of the group so having people at least showing they have some past experience is a plus.

Again though, it’s week 1, you are looking for a PuG…Good luck?
There just won’t be that many people making much work in those scenarios sorry. Give it a couple of weeks and try again?

I would anticipate that they are talking about the previous tier AotC.
Why would anyone ask for AotC of the current tier a day after release? Those people who would be interested would have already been locked to get their AotC….think about it.
