Take a look at “herald of the titans” versus “Argent Defender.”
They are literally the same achievement… complete a raid while wearing a certain ilvl.
Herald of the titans remained while Argent Defender was removed… Why? because blizzard didn’t want to go through the extra effort of tuning the tribute chest attempts in Argent Defender.
Well, then why did you do it? Obviously you did it to help a friend or something… meaning your friend enjoys the title…
How would your friend feel if Herald was removed?
I did herald back when it was current in wotlk… i have no problem with people getting it now.
When i did it, you only had 60 minutes per weekly lockout to attempt algalon. It was stressfull to pull algalon knowing that if we messed up, we would have to wait until next week. But it was an accomplishment to get it done and I’ll always remember that…
Can people do it now with like 5 toons at lvl 30 wearing ungemmed, unenchanted gear? yeah…
does it make me feel bad about my herald achievement? certainly not.
I did it because my tight nit guild of friends wanted to get it done back then as a form of side project during our off time when we had been done with raiding. I said okay. I showed up. I geared a character. I did a thing.
Much the same, my girlfriend’s guild over on another server wanted it because they like to do little coordinated things too. They needed an extra body, and she asked me. I said okay.
And I do not care if they’d be bummed about it being removed. Or anything like that. It is entirely irrelevant to me. I love my friends, make no mistake. But I will not change my views for my friends. And you can ask them that too. Because every single time a patch is coming near an end? I make an announcement. “The following items are going away! If you want these things, make sure you go get them. You are out of time.”
And I tell them everything they need, and I let them know every item going away and I make sure they have all the information.
My friends are irrelevant to my views. My views are mine because I enjoy certain things. They, as people, and again – you can ask them this, they’ll tell you I say this outright – if they want something? Go get it. My views do not change for anyone.
I don’t care about that either. This debate will never end, and I genuinely couldn’t care less. It’s a forum of public opinion. People can vomit them as much as they want. Just like I can vomit mine. I like time sensitive things, time sensitive means time sensitive. People can go off.
Now, I said my other response was my last one to you but you asked a question that’s worth highlighting. Now that you are done with that question and I have made my stance clear, bye bye. Have a nice night.
Doesn’t change the fact that removing content from the game is not healthy for the long-term lifespan of the game, especially now since blizzard has put itself in a position where they don’t add new things very often.
Less content means less players. End of story.
The amount of players blizzard may lose because they get upset about “prestige” is far less than the amount of players they would gain by keeping enjoyable content in the game.
You can respond or don’t respond…i don’t care either way… I’m saying these things for the benefit of the people reading the thread, not you.
Idk, I’d love to be able to grind the old CM.
Imagine if they expanded M+ to those areas as well. I wouldn’t care if you couldn’t gear from it. The fact you could attempt it at level cap and it actually be a challenge + get the rewards again… Sign me up.
100% agree on the MoP/WoD legendary quest should never have been removed.
Though I will say on the topic of Mage Tower skins, assuming Dragonflight the Mage Tower is still relatively difficult as it was in Shadowlands I’m open to them coming back.
Challenge Mode stuff I don’t think should come back.
Well then it sounds like the issue is Blizzard not putting in new content for players to partake in. Another issue is the content Blizzard has put in for the past 2 expansions have not really been well received. And Blizzard for many expansions for some reason fails to observe what’s successful and build upon it.
Good example of this is the Mage Tower. It was a huge success in Legion. Why they haven’t added in a completely new challenge with cosmetics in both BFA/SL for people to go after is beyond my comprehension.
They should focus on adding new content that all players could enjoy. Not spend time revamping old content for a small portion of players that weren’t around to complete it when it was current.
I mean players played with the understanding that items would disappear and acquired them. So it’s a bad look on Blizzard if they said “Haha! Just kidding!” and then handed them out to everyone.
