honestly, i go to the stone before i even GET in the queue. never fails–9 times out of 10, NO ONE in the group is there. is it too much to ask?
Something that is learned the further we go in life: most people aren’t very considerate of others. I haven’t figured out why this is the case yet.
I don’t get upset if they aren’t at the stone already. What gets me the most is when nobody starts to travel there when the group fills up. I’ve left groups because of it.
Why don’t you have your dungeon teleport?
It takes maybe 5 minutes to get to any dungeon in the game these days, at worst. Just fly there and help out?
you only apply to one dungeon at a time?
While it is frustrating to join a group where noone else is at or even heading to the stone, I can’t really blame people. Groups will often wait exorbitant amounts of time to find a tank or healer. Is it really fair to expect them to just be standing around that entire time?
yup! and I’m talking specifically to the keyholder
I’m a tank, I expect to be invited instantly and summoned regardless because of my inflated ego and privilege!
It can take up to 20 minutes to form a group.
Do you A. Wait at the stone and stare at your screen while the group forms or B. multitask and accomplish other game or even RL activities while you wait.
With that capacity for decision making I judge the third option of having the dungeon teleports is out of reach.
i’m a healer, i expect to be summoned right after the tank!
But I’m Alliance in War Mode
sorry I can’t, I’m busy in stormwind & goldshire every time I sign up for a key
need summons always plz (healer privilege)
Yes, yes it is too much to ask.
It takes a while to build a key group. That’s time i could be using to run Korthia dailies or world quests. I expect that other people do the same multitasking too. Once the group is formed, then everyone heads to the instance.
As a tank, I’m often joining groups that are otherwise full. I don’t mind traveling to the stones. But, all too often, I find myself reaching the stone and waiting upwards of ten minutes for any of the other four members to arrive.
I am pet battling, it’s like I’m in dungeon finder. I’ll go there when I get the people I want.
Sounds great if that works for you but I find it a bit surprising. I very rarely know ahead of time which dungeon I’m queueing for. Rather, I have in mind a specific keystone level that I want, and then I look for a group doing that level. The actual dungeon matters little, and with so few groups running these days, I can’t exactly be picky.
Having said that, I always start heading go the dungeon as soon as I get invited to the group.
This would be wonderful if more people were like this. However, if I’m on one of my kyrian characters and it’s a bastion dungeon, I’ll sit at elysian/hero’s rest until the group is full because I can just use the travel network to go to either spires or nw
Whenever i am looking for M+ i go to Oribos, or the covenant sanctum if that toon has T3 transport network. That way i can be at the same distance from basically every dungeon. The exception may be when there is a calling that can be completed in a dungeon, in that case i stay in the sanctum, so if i get invited to a key in the calling zone i can pick it right away.
Personally i dont mind people doing their own thing if the group isnt full, specially if tank/healer is missing. I know it can take a while and some people dont like spending a lot of time just waiting in front of the stone. What really annoys me is when the group is full and some people, instead of start flying to the dungeon, just sit in wherever they are waiting for their lazy heads to get summoned. Sometimes this happen with so many people in the group that you waste a lot of time waiting at the stone for someone else to summon because they cant be bothered to fly there. It can get quite infuriating, in fact i remember i once left a group because of sitting 15+ minutes waiting for someone else to show at the stone, they werent moving and didnt say a word so i just noped out of that group, if they cant be bothered to go to the stone nor simply writing “omw” i dont trust them to focus on doing things well during the run.
exactly…same here, it’s annoying.
