Plot twist please

I would really love to see the Banshee Queen vindicated for her actions. Like she is clued into a bigger threat that is coming and refuses to fight on two fronts.

LOL True enough.

The fatal flaw in that scenario is, why doesn’t Sylvanas use this information to keep the other Horde leaders loyal?

The Horde is threatening to tear itself apart, and by 8.1.5 she’s going to be resorting to outright intimidation tactics to keep the other Horde leaders in line. Those tactics have the potential to backfire horrifically, which to me at least indicates that she has no other mechanisms available to her.

I am getting deep into maybe territory here. But bear with me. Maybe what needs to be done is so bad that she needs people ok with heavy handed tactics. I just really want to believe that we aren’t doing another Hellscream type situation. I have no problem with wearing a black hat.I just want a new one.

she is literally trying to awaken a dormant old god blade that serves n’zoths will, its better not to have hope, or else sylvanas will try to kill it

I know it’s delusional and contrary to the things we’ve seen so far but I want to believe that the Horde is just playing with the Alliance. Having these “betrayals” be so out in the open where there are surely Alliance spies watching. Killing Forsaken for show and then later on Nathanos just swings by with a Valk and re-raises them or something lol. I just can’t allow myself to accept that we’re literally doing MoP over again.

That is how I feel. Writing cannot be this lazy.

thats the problem with Arrogance, Slyvanas sees Garrosh as an amateur but that wont stop her from doing the sames he did for the same reasons, what a twist it would be if the old gods were actaully turning horde leaders to SAVE azeroth and we had been leading it further and further to destruction

It seems rather chaotic still since she hasn’t earned anyone’s trust, any other scenario?

Again, we run into the problem that if Sylvanas has a motivation that the other Horde leaders will accept as worth the tactics she’s using, she should of told them about it.

As things currently stand, I think the only real escape from an MoP 2.0 is for Sylvanas to be fully deposed earlier in the expansion. Either in 8.2 or 8.2.5.

Her story doesn’t necessarily end there, it just becomes decoupled from the Horde’s.

The only “plot twist” that could vindicate Sylvanas for Teldrassil would be finding out that actually the night elves are all secretly demon worshippers or dread lords or void cultists and Sylvanas knew it all along. Which might actually be funny if I didn’t still care enough about this story to take it with even an iota of seriousness.

By secretly Void Cultists does that include being servants of an Evil Elune(in the same way the Protoss were unknowingly worshipers of the Evil faction of Xel’naga from Starcraft 2)?

Final Boss WoW Amon confirmed.

Potentially, or everyone but the dead are corrupted. She is clearly letting her Dark Rangers in on some details of what is going on, they speak of ‘What [she] warned us about’ in regards to their Shadowlands damnation - but how does she know they are all damned? Her growing affinity with death may indicate she knows something about the nature of the afterlife others don’t.

When she burns Teldrassil, her last thoughts before ordering it are that (paraphrased poorly) “She knew it would come to this, but just not this soon”, with the context that she suspects Saurfang’s hand may have been stayed by outside influence. Far from being a whim, the Burning was a recalculation to her belief that some larger game we’re not aware of was more advanced than she’d thought. Now, what ‘this’ is in this context, be that gathering a huge mass of the dead or striking at Old Gods/Elune/??? with the Burning, is unknown.

Her new dialogue is laced with references to larger plans that others aren’t aware of, and she seems to sincerely believe the Alliance are blind to some threat she knows of that isn’t her. She claims Anduin is deceiving them, which may suggest the ‘master’s table’ angle has more legs to it.

Why do I mention all of this? Because it may be that Sylvanas, being dead and knowing more about the afterlife, is immune to a pandemic corruption of the world. The world is bathed in Azerite now, which several old god comments suggest may not be what it appears (again, poorly quoted) “Its gleaming surface hides shadows beneath”, “the king of diamonds has been made a pawn”, “Her heart is a crater and we (old gods) have filled it”.

It may be that Sylvanas is brutally confronting the real battle for Azeroth and can’t tell us her plans because we are unwitting spies for the enemy.

And you may say ‘But surely the Forsaken PC, being guarded from the Old Gods by undeath, should be told!’ - and that is a very good point… but that same PC is holding the Heart of Azeroth, the nexus of corruption in this case. It may be that only her inner circle are informed of what is occurring.

This is all major tinfoil hat level conspiracy, but Blizzard is so all over the place I don’t think it’s totally off the table.

Fingers crossed!

Elune’s Night Warrior Night Elves do have similar Black Eyes as Duran did when Kerrigan killed him in Heart of the Swarm…

Duran can easily change gender(he was killed while in the form of Kerrigan in Heart of the Swarm) so if there is a similar character in WoW (“The Light has made a bargain with the enemy of all” - N’Zoth) we may have a reason as to why Xal’atath was dismissive of Elune being a “goddess”. She may have seen Elune as a God(remember the Void speaks in half-truths) but not a Goddess.

Who would believe her?

“Hey some big bads are coming for us so lets attack the Alliance!”
