Trivia question:
Where are the young Tortollans that are laying the eggs on the beach? I don’t think Nola is young enough to be populating all these turtles.
It’s not Sunday.
Turtles aren’t Tortollans. Tortollan hatcheries are in Dazar’alor.
They hatch in every zone my friend.
Turtles, yes. Tortollans, no.
Turtles do. Tortollans don’t.
“a young tortollan begins it’s life amid great danger. help these turtles to the water” (paraphrasing)
they multiply like rabbit
turtles = sand rabbits
Fixed that for you.
She is expressing sympathy for her peoples’ genetic cousins. Just as some real world humans would go to considerable lengths to help our cousins, the chimpanzees and bonobos, survive. It doesn’t mean that chimps = humans, dear. Or that turtles = Tortollans.
Nola isn’t giving birth to those turtles. She’s just sitting there watching them get slaughtered by crabs and seagulls, rooting for them to make it.
…It’s a hobby, I guess.
Ooh, we can have humanoid beetle-people next, and they can watch beetles make their way to a dungheap while birds and spiders prey on them.
Hire me, Blizzard.
Sometimes she turns you into a crab so you can murder the turtles that you were just trying to save a couple of days ago
Odd thing is, Nola could stll be egg-laying age. Real-world tutles are fertile throughout their often-long lives. It’s only us mamals that have the limited fertility window.
Humans in particular.
This is not a thread that will help me sleep tonight.
