Plot armor

Suddenly I realized that we all need to stop complaining about Sylvanas’ plot armor because she just had that for couple of years. Meanwhile, our PC (aka champion, hero, savior) has had plot armor for 15 years, anything/anyone that we wanted to kill, it dies.

Are demons regenerating in the twisting nether horrifying? No. The endless swarm of HEROES are much much more terrifying.

Scourge? Meh.

Overmind? Dead.

Amon you’re next.

We are the swarm, we are infinite.

 Kerrigan.

Edit:

To clarify of course I knew how much effort the UED took only to pacify the miniature Overmind, let alone all the missions with Tassadar in order to kill the big one so this is my failed attempt on sarcasm.

Still not enough to impress Nathanos.

Jaina’s had it even longer, we’re like little babies to her plot armour.

Our plot armor is different though as it’s tied for our financial contributions to Blizzard. NPC plot armor is due to bad writing in most cases.

Agreed. But from another perspective people who bought Shadowlands (not complaining, I bought it too) are also responsible for Sylvanas beating up poor Bolvar :sob:

As far as plot armor goes, we need look no further than our resurrection spells. At least some other MMOs have had the decency to try to explain the immortality of the PCs (example, In Destiny, Guardians (players) are simply different due to their Ghost having rezed them from the dead, and being capable of doing it again. In EVE Online, the players are “capsuleers”, which are unique individuals that have been uplinked into a clone network and can “respawn” in clones when they die.).

In WoW, we’re, for no readily explained reason, immortal. If we die, we can be rezed by others, or we’re saved by Spirit Healers and can walk back to our corpse to rez that way. But somehow, that doesn’t apply to NPCs. When Varian died, Anduin rezing him wasn’t even on the table. Same thing when Vol’jin died, and Cairne, and all of the other major characters Blizzard has Red-Shirted over the years.
