Plese REMOVE level scaling

Well you can, once you get out of that level range. If you want go back when you are 80 and stomp through those level 35 mobs, feel free.

I like level scaling in general. I think the big problem for me is the lack of progression feel… But I also think a big factor in that comes from the sheer lack of abilities and talents. Having new abilities to fight mobs that level with me would make it feel a lot better.

Though, that’s just a personal opinion. I fully understand why people hate the level scaling.

No as in the word doesn’t make sense in the content you describe. A snowflake is more likely to want things made easier for them ‘because they want it their way’.

That’s why you’re getting people calling you it. Because that’s what you’re asking for.

To be fair they’ll be level 60 mobs. But yep absolutely.

For me a snowflake is someone who is covered in a blanket and given equality in anything… level scaling balances it out and makes everything equal. So I guess that is where I translated the term snowflake.

Yes, you are correct, they’ll fight at the cap level of that range. But it will still be a roflstomp.

I admit I’ve done it myself, generally when I go back to do those old dungeons and raids.

If that was the motivation then they’d probably scale zones all the way to endgame.

Which they are basically next expansion.

Though yeah honestly I wouldn’t mind it ‘as an option’.

Same kneeshooter, I’m doing loremasters at the moment. Mix of alts and 120’s doing it but plenty of stomping.

Because going through the same 2 leveling zones at certain levels is soooooooo fun

literally the base of any rpgMMO in existence. probably should look into a different genre of games. incoming hurr muh ff14

Having the option to turn it off won’t remove scaling for people who want it

no, we asked for scaling because we didnt want to change zones every 20mins because we outlevel the content after 1 dungeon. we wanted to be able to finish a zone and for the content to be challenging. we used to 1 shot everything in heirlooms.

scaling is the best thing to happen to this game followed closely by party-sync.

Which is why they implemented a ton of ways to get an increase in XP and even an event that favors alt leveling folks.

And eventually realized 120 is a lot of arbitrary numbers to climb and cutting it in half.

Who is saying you can’t?

Did some questing in outland. Nobody wants to group and quest despite running into each other consistently. Wish i had this hand holding experience you speak of.

i’m at a loss for words…

Level scaling doesn’t bother me as much as the horrible invention that was Ilvl scaling. It’s NEVER in your favor and makes the “newer” zones a slog and rather unpleasant.

But even before scaling, this didn’t exist – while leveling, world mobs either died in 1 hits or 2 hits depending on how many outdated pieces of gear you had.

To get a sense of progression in leveling you have to roll all the way back to like mid-WotLK, before everybody got heirlooms and before the world had all its teeth pulled.

Yeah, I hate all the scaling (mob, zone, ilevel) personally, but I know I’m in the minority. Blizz has gone all in considering how many things scale now so I don’t see them reversing it. I’m not looking forward to all the zones outside of new zones scaling to 50 when Shadowlands launches but will just have to wait and see how the level squish plays out.

I understand why people say things like this, but it really just isn’t on the table at this point.
Going back to “ROFLSTOMP” the mobs is something you do at max level.

I don’t really believe anyone actually thinks this is a good experience for a leveling toon, do they?

Like, surely if leveling just allowed you to get to 120 faster by doing the exact zones you want when you want it, then you could focus on whatever you want to go do out in the world at 120, no?

As it stands, if they undid any scaling, leveling would get longer by default due to having to travel in and out of zones constantly.

Either way, throwing buzzwords like “snowflake” and “blocking” is doing no one any favors.

In order to do what you suggest they would have to completely redesign leveling and go back on everything they said at Blizzcon.

If you want this to happen, you are going to have to come up with some actual real reasons it needs to happen.
And quick.

I hate the scaling because it breaks immersion. Here I am, training and leveling and what, the bears around Andorhal are STILL tough?? Have I been doing nothing this whole time?

Farming is impossible unless I’ve massively outleveled the entire world, not the zone, because despite everything being in the high 50s along with my 57 rogue who wants to train tailoring and needs linen, not all of the level 56-58 mobs she encounters will drop linen. Some will drop wool, some silk, some runecloth—they left the zones that were the right level as the only source for the various mats. Goldthorn won’t spawn in Mulgore even though it’s mostly the right environment, and everything’s the same level as what I encounter in Stranglethorn or Arathi Highlands.

Sure, it’s nice to keep getting a steady stream of exp, but it feels like a treadmill that never changes incline and barely changes scenery. Boring, and shafts professions yet again.

This happened after Blizzard implemented after the first stat squish in Warlords of Draenor expansion. Before that, there was a good sense of progression.

I disagree, at least if we’re talking about leveling. There was almost no sense of progression in Cata-revamp Azeroth. Everything died quickly and real elites were replaced by “paper elites” which had the fancy dragon unit frame but were no more dangerous than any other mob their level. You could turn mobs green and grey by outleveling the zone, but that was against your best interest with yellow mobs being almost as easy to kill and yielding much better XP.

Yes. This game worked very well, for a very long time, with no level scaling. I swear, a lot of what Blizzard adds to this game is solutions looking for problems. Was anybody actually complaining about being able to roflstomp low-level mobs?

It’s amazing how much crap Blizzard has changed in this game just for the sake of change. And many of them have been bad changes, level scaling included.
