I was informed that if you leave your growl on it becomes more difficult for melee, or tanks, and makes the time to kill a rare longer. So, if other players join in on acrare turn off growlbit just cluck of a button.
Wouldnât be a problem if hunter pets couldnât tank them with ease.
Had two other players explain that it was an issue and made it more difficult on other players.
Was this the spider rare in zereth mortis perchance? Thats like the one time it matters lately.
A dead pet will make it all go away.
I love when hunters have their pet taunt onâŚexcept for the
Thatâs really the only one it causes problems on
I like the way you think! Canât have pet aggro issues if the pets are dead!
Thatâs the one. However, there are more than just the spider with similar mechanics, and there are specs that receive bonuses from being melee. So, best to just turn it off.
The spider is the only one I can think of that has to be moved out of pools.
But in contrast to what you have been told, I can do way more damage when I am not having to worry about tanking or staying alive. You should leave the pet taunt on.
For the most part its not an issue. The rares are trivial to begin with and worst case the mob is held in some mild goop.
Its not fun to be a tank and be weaker as a tank than a random hunters pet with growl on though. Really weird design.
I would guess that TECHNICALLY this is true because when your pet growls and the mob spins then the melee âhave toâ run around the mob to get behind them. If their attack gets parried then the kill takes longer or if the mob has a strong attack that cleaves and hits them and they die the kill takes longer but
Thereâs more than just one rare in WoW that drops something on the ground that needs to be avoided, or there will be I assume.
Just read towards the bottom. Why Are People Still Yelling At Hunters About Pet Aggo?
Hunters have the ability to command their pets to move to a different location.
If they are aware of the issue they can do something about it.
On the other hand, just because something can be done doesnât mean it will be done
When I play my Pally, I find it annoying but not a big deal.
They only boss where this is truly an issue is Mother in ZM where the hunter never moves the pet out if the aoe and melee cant attack fully.
I just assume a hunter will fly in and pet grab agro. I turn growl off if a tank is there, but prepare with growl in case one isnât.
I dont see howâŚhaving a big baddie bouncing off two âtanksâ or more keeps the heat off any single one of them.
Weâve run two tank specs and it worked out greatâŚalso do it between the tank and my hunter pets.
Actually saved a tank from dying a few times by growling intentionally in a run pulling the boss off the dying tank long enough for the healer to get him back up⌠my pets are expendableâŚ
No. I dont trust pugs even in open world
I just sit back and let the lock and hunters do the work when their pets taunt.
What was really annoying was a lock who kept fearing mobs I was trying to mass kill.
Uhhh What? Hunters can keep taunt on on rares less damage i take then i can just do damage.
Betting that is a LOT of reason hunters arent liked or trusted in many groups. Too many hunter players have no clue how to manage their pet beyond attacking.
I keybind growl, follow and Move To on every hunter I have.
