400ms is not even accurate to vanilla… it was 200 ms in vanilla, well it depended on your internet but it was from 100-300 at most. Please fix this as many have been saying since launch and even beta. I am going to quit this game soon there is too much wrong with it, even as a vanilla addict…
It feels the same to me
So, why would they fix it for you?
retail scrub says “ima quit classic”
why are you in every thread trolling and being a blizzard good-boy? I have seen you here since launch. Get a life.
Why are you asking for changes in a game you no longer wish to play?
You think the server side batching speed had something to do with your internet connection? Lol.
batching SIMULATES the internet of the time. so yes, its is related.
No, lol, that’s not what it does at all.
explain what you mean instead of being condescending, I know how batching works.
Play or not the batching just feels off.
There is a really detailed warrior thread on the batching and how it’s not accurately representing vanilla.
In that thread they show without a doubt that mortal strike has an 800ms delay, where in Vanilla it was 400 on a piss poor connection.
Classic WoW has a lot of mechanics that need to be either made accurate or just made better.
In the case of batching, and I CREDIT Galdor for this find; “Batching” was in WoW in its old format all the way through MoP.
in patch 6.0 batching as we knew it was changed the the modern system.
Did TBC, Wrath, Cata, or MoP ever run this bad? Nope, and neither did Vanilla.
This IMO is a symptom of just plugging in values to a system just because those were the values side on an entirely different server structure and software package.
What we have in Classic 2019 is wrong.
yea the values are just off, it just needs to be adjusted. Seems like devs dont care though.
I’m betting they may care but their hands are likely tied somehow.
Could be spite from higher up hampering the quality of product? No idez, but it sure sucks to play with an 800 ms delay, MS is not the only ability displaying this kind of non vanilla behavior either.
Batching is how the server takes all the inputs recieved in the past 400ms and calculates them at once.
Was it done because of poor connection speeds back in the day? Yes.
Does it make Gameplay feel bad? Yes.
Does your personal connection have anything to do with it? No.
Dont let the door hit you on the way out…kek
Give me your stuff please
“I don’t want to get too deep into the under-the-hood workings of WoW servers, but here’s a super short version. Any action that one unit takes on another different unit used to be processed in batches every 400ms.”
Celestalon.
No no no. Spell batching was put in because using it to your advantage required an incredible amount of skill. Blizz added it so the best rogues of all time could gouge blinks and stuff. It also allowed for the hyper-skilled pvp’ers to have a lot of sex
its required but atm its just set too high.
Batching was done on the server side. It doesn’t depend on the client’s internet connection. I’m also pretty sure it was a set amount, as well.
Personally, I think they should remove it entirely.
