Please stop with the quest NPC's haunting us

The little gryphon.
Please stop trying to hold my hand and make quest NPCs haunt you down in every corner of the map.

I’m in mop remix atm and its following me around, so now i have to go do that or its going to be getting in the way of everything i do. Go to loot? Open up quest cause the pathing of your chaser npcs gets under my mouse.

I kind of don’t disagree that it’s super annoying, if you don’t want to do the quest.

but on the other hand if they didn’t do it you’d have people here crying that blizz makes it too hard to find important quests.

Finish the quest or abandon it then.

The issue is generally that if you abandon it, the follower NPC will just come back to shove it in your face until you take it.

So for people who aren’t interested in doing whatever that content is, they either have to go waste time doing something they don’t care about so they stop getting bothered, or waste potentially multiple quest slots in their log by accepting the quest and turning the tracking off so they don’t see anything about it anymore.

It’s obnoxious.

I do think it’s fairly minor to go do the first step of these quests to get rid of them, but the fact that Blizzard keeps making NPCs introduce quests in this forced way is getting very very old.

On a similar note:
Pop-up quests that have the Decline option greyed out. Like the Incursions or whatever in BfA if you’re in the zone for it, or the Shadowlands intro quest. If people don’t want to do something, or at least don’t want to do it right now, don’t force them to accept just to get it off their screen.

Only if you summon the pet.

time it takes to do the quest is probably less than the time you spent on the forums complaining about it. yea its annoying but just do it once per toon and its gone

I mean, this patch auto-summoned the pet, no?

People are having to figure out that they have to go manually dismiss the pet because it LOOKS like any of other 6 small animals forcing quests on you in Dragonflight that WEREN’T personal pets.

Every new patch its something following me.

Make a central mission board or something. Make the quests appear in boxes like selecting Chromie timeways.

I’m sick of logging in and having yet another new random item in my bag to use for a teleport or a new thing following waiting to force the quest on me.

Just do the quest

I still have Ettrige chasing my warriors around Dalaran from the Legion Class quests.

Tried telling him I already helped out Saurfang on 3 other warriors, but he still follows “I must speak to you, the matter is urgent!”

The term you are looking for is hunt you down.

Haunt you is something a qhost or some monster from a movie would do to you.

The problem in this case is that I had to log onto a completely different character to do the quest so I could go play the one I wanted to. (You can’t actually do the quest in Remix, but the NPC follows you around with it regardless.)

You can’t tell me that’s good design.

I know what i said. They haunt you. It started in legions and you’d even have that one wine making ghost haunting you in that one area, Even up in the sky he would pop in and fall.

Haunting isn’t always an evil thing. Some can just be annoying/inconvenient.

“Make the best of a bad, easily corrected, situation.”

I once had a quest giver in Azsuna (the guy at the vineyard) follow me all the way to Illidari Stand. The award for “pushiest quest giver” should go to him.

“Champion! I’ve been looking everywhere for you! The head in the crystal ball? I’m trying something new!”

“Champion! You’re just in time. Mekkatorque is fading fast! …”

“Something has spooked one of the brutosaurs, sending it into a panic! …”

No thank you, I don’t really want to do this quest for the 30th time. I’m just passing through to use the portal room or runeforge a new weapon or something. And I can’t leave it in my quest log because of the quest limit. I guess it’s good to feel needed?

Yeah the NPCs that harass you until you do the quests need to go. If the quest is that important then put an NPC that offers the quest by every bank in every major city (that includes banks in cities like Shat, Oribos and Dalaran in Northrend.)

This is a game that’s supposed to be fun and it’s not fun to have my mom/dad following me around, nagging me until I do the chore they want done.

I hate this. For the Legion Class hall quest line, it’s basically the campaign so it’s almost understandable. Now we have a better alternative. The quest log will say “to continue the campaign, do X” so there’s no need for nagging. That wasn’t the case in Legion.

But… we get nagging anyway. It’s particularly annoying for things that are completely important. Example: the Little Whelp Daycare. You do this once and you never need to do it again. yet every alt will get nagged by this so you have to accept the quest just to get rid of it and do the first quest to remove it from your log. STOP.

While we’re at it, STOP PUTTING QUEST ITEMS IN MY INVENTORY. The latest is with the TWW lead up quests and I have a Dalaran HS in my inventory now. No choice. It’s just there.

And STOP MAILING ME IRRELEVANT STUFF. I’m looking at you, Warcraft Rumble Pouch.

I hate these nagging tactics. I don’t care if the developer responsible has some metrics about “participation”. This is a negative experience. Stop it.

Abandoning the quest just makes the annoying mini start following you again. My son has no interest in doing anything in WoW other than M+ and mythic raid, and as the expansion moves forward, he ends up with more and more of these annoying little cling-ons fluttering around his characters. It quickly reaches the point where even if he wanted to do something in game other than instanced content, he couldn’t because of the swarm of annoyance making it impossible. It’s a terrible “solution” that needs to stop, and it’s yet more clear evidence that current WoW devs don’t actually play the game, or they would never in a million years add such an annoyance.

In the past, if I’ve done the quest on my main or a couple alts already, I just accept the quest so the NPC leaves me alone, lol. Once I’m out of that zone for good, I’ll abandon the quest if I’m certain I won’t return anytime soon, if I want it out of my quest log.
The only time I ever wanted it to stay was Khadgar in a ball, I found that so damn hilarious I didn’t accept the quest so he’d keep following me around, just a bummer no one else could see him, lol.

I wonder if this will change going forward for alts now with the warband stuff. Our main does the quest, will the annoying NPCs still follow our alts around? Hmmmmm
