Lately, some cloth set pants have this bizarre armor plate attached to the hips. Not sure why it’s become a feature, but I think it’s time to stop.

The only problem with them is that, due to WoW’s chunky artstyle, it tends to lead to a lot of clipping issues. If the hip adornments were thinner, it wouldn’t be a huge issue.

The plated hips create a good silhouette on robes but without them they just give fanny pack vibes

Agreed. I mean, invest in a little more armor physics, like they’ve done with some of the new trading post shoulder cloak items, and stop slapping ugly chunky plates that just float in the air around the hip area on everything.
They. Look. Terrible.
Instead of having your asset people create floating metal hip plates for cloth robes (which does not look good or nice or balanced or any other positive adjective), how about you just make the robes move a little. That would be a much better investment of time and energy.

And sometimes when you need a certain layer of protection to be that truthful.

If they were smaller and didn’t float in space, it wouldn’t be so bad.
But the amount of clipping and how obnoxious they look on some models… they need to dial it back.

Idk. I am very pro the cloth/plate look.
None of my clothies use robes. I’ll use a hidden top or a shirt style with a tabard and pants.
I wish there were more options like that tbh

It should be optional and able to be removed with transmog like you can with helms and boots. It’s silly.

They are rediculous, I agree. The Witch outfits would be So cute, but for those big honking hip… things. I don’t need 90 year old lady trip and fall armor! If I’ve fallen, I can get up. lol

I’ll take anything for my clothy toons that is not a damn robe, and it’s not “skinny jeans” all legs either. The push for more long open jacket/tunic style mogs is going in the right direction after DF. The pirate jackets in plunderstorm are another great example
