Please stop slapping timers on everything

It doesn’t make it harder, it just makes it more annoying and ups stress levels of people attempting content. This is bad for bloody solo content, and especially solo content that you’ve only got a limited number of attempts.

If people wanna take 3 hours clearing a vision for lackluster rewards for a cloak upgrade, why can’t they just do it? Why do you have to impose a stupid time limit on it?

Seriously, stop just slapping timers on things. It doesn’t add anything to the content, it’s fake difficulty, it only limits player agency and player choice on how they want to approach content. Which is especially egregious on content that is suppose to be solo-friendly.

I agree. I really don’t like visions but I HAVE to do it for the cloak upgrade.

Activision did the same stuff with Destiny/Destiny 2, Bungie was no
different than Blizzard is now.

Activision is Blizzard’s daddy and they screw players however they’re told to.

Bungie split from Activision and gained a lot of respect. Even when they messed up breaking the game with a bug they took the time to break down how it happened and fixed it. Pretty cool stuff. Its too bad Activision straight up owns Blizzard so that can never happen for Blizz. They will remain in the trash can putting out “quality” games Activision is known for

Keep upgrading your research and the cloak. Eventually you’ll probably be able to stay in there for 3 hours…

The only things that are making me very annoyed with visions is mage district mechanics + leaden foot.

The elite that non-stop spams swirls under your feet and umbric’s mechanics perfectly synergize against you. I’ve managed to 2 mask clear it, but those two elites together can very easily tank your run with very minor mistakes.

Particularly when the alternate vision (org) is a complete joke by comparison.

Wish corrupted. You now have 5 minutes at most to write a thread and 2 minutes to write a reply.

(as a n00b though I kinda like it, it makes me challenge myself)

On visions having the timer is part of the deal. Please don’t dumb down content that is supposed to be challenging. I’m actually having fun here.

I think his point is a timer is bad way to add difficulty to content. I personally would rather see stuff just be tuned harder and you either clear it or you dont.

The timers have made me nope out of that content. I don’t mind hard but putting a time limit on it doesn’t increase the difficulty it is just annoying. Make it challenging in that you have to use your full toolkit instead. Don’t let it be a gear check, have it scale so it’s skill that will win out.

I mean. They can have both.

If you like a time limit why can’t you just download a stop watch add on and compare on a scoreboard page? Why force people who moved to MMORPG’s because they didn’t want a fast paced game into the very game style that they where trying to avoid?

He most likely takes design suggestions from the guild that carries him every week. Guess they wanted timers along with everything else that has been put in game.

How many things have timers?

Its only m+ still…right?

I know its unfortunate that occasionaly there is a form of progression that makes you play well without unlimited chances.

You aren’t supposed to be staying in a corrupted version of reality for a long time.

But perception is reality. Nothing besides.

My point was, I don’t think it’s a bad way to add difficulty. I like having to react on my feet, rather than carefully cherry picking my experience.

I get it’s not for everyone, but I like the timer and the game play it brings to visions. :grinning:

This seems like extreme hyperbole. Visions, and M+ are the only continuous timed content we have, and while I do take issue with M+’s repetitiveness, it’s timer is not an issue. There isn’t some wide array of timed content we keep getting.

Limited resources (sanity/time), and managing that to get the most out of it is the entire point of visions, and why the Titanic Research adds ways to help you manage it, and why masks add difficulty by hampering your ability to manage it. Asking for the time/management part to be removed is essentially asking for visions to be removed altogether, because at that point it will just be a hallow, meaningless slog, with no difficulty to it whatsoever.

Vision time limits are more of a thematic thing. Upgrading the cloak in general allows you to “stay sane longer” i.e. increases time.

Like… yesterday i did my 4 visions, each took about 20 minutes. Thats a longggg time for those.
