Please stop removing content

Warcraft,
STOP REMOVING CONTENT!

FOMO anxiety is not good for the players or the game. It creates contempt and leads to burn-out, while diminishing excitement of new content.

There’s nothing wrong with having time-limited achievements for an expansion, given that 95% of all content can be streamrolled for collections after its over. A couple things you can’t get unless you actually play while it’s current isn’t going to break anything.

but that’s what op wants

If not getting items in a game is giving you anxiety then you need to step away. The answer is not to stop having limited items but getting help for your fear of missing out.

“Ahead of the curve” or launch event stuff which is inherently time sensitive, I understand, but why remove meta achievements?

Because they’re meant to be a “I was there for the expansion” thing, or at least Back from the Beyond is. Just like the “collect rank 4 powers” thing from BfA, except actually attainable by normal people.

This seems like gatekeeping for the sake of gatekeeping. I don’t see the value in removing the ability to go back and get this stuff. If the BfA achievement were still obtainable, it would give people that much more to do.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply.

I do have kids and I play guitar, which is why I don’t have hours a day to complete these things.

Well, look at you go.

Blizzard has a reason for doing it. Whatever it is I’m sure it’s logical and necessary. Who are we to question it?

It’s only FOMO if you allow it to be. Don’t care so much about rented pixels and you won’t be afraid of missing out.

I regret not taking Challenge mode dungeons more seriously and missing out on those armor sets and weapon mogs…but ive been able to still accomplish many things and get a lot of stuff that are/will no longer be obtainable. It just the course of the game, and since WoW is so expansive, its hard to keep EVERYTHING thats ever been in the game without potentially causing serious issues. However, giving the players a chance to get some of those items again…maybe? IDK we will just have to wait and see…

It serves as incentive to get people to leave their comfort zone and try new things in the game.

Rewards that can be gotten trivially at a later time are not as good incentive.

disagree

i think “FOMO” is a buzz word used WAAAAAY too often
weaponizing the word and utilizing it in scenarios it doesnt work is dumb

things available for >24 months before being made exclusive AREN’T fomo LMAO

Patch 9.2.5 which added Back from the Beyond achievement was release May 31 2022 (not 2 yrs ago).
A lot of people (myself included) didn’t learn of the achievement until some time later.

They’re good incentive to go back to old content. However I have no problem really with limited time. I do disagree with the removal of the cloak quest line (MoP) and ring quest line (WoD). No mind the reward but those were both great story lines for said xpacs.

I wouldn’t have done Tazavesh or any Mythic+ on my main in this expansion if not for Back from the Beyond. It wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t have had to worry about the stupid random abomination weeklies either if not for BftB so

Yeah it was fairly easy, for the most part.

Though to be fair I’ve mainly focused on Covenant stuff this expansion so I had all of that in the bag before the meta achievement even launched lol
