Please stop making servers

I’d rather wait in queue for 5 hours each day for the first month instead of them popping out 15 more servers, half of which will be low population in 30days due to the tourists leaving.

That’s not going to happen.

There’s no way the tourists are spending 2+ hours in queue right now.

We need more servers and free transfers from the full servers to low servers.

The low servers will just fill up, The servers made yesterday are full, If the people from the Herod queue alone left to the servers made today they would all be full.

Yes, that’s the point.

I’d rather play everyday when I want to for the first month and be on a lower pop server later in that gets merged

If you don’t want to play on those servers, don’t play on them? What a selfish attitude, though.

“NOBODY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PLAY! IT WON’T MAKE ME HAPPY!”

Maybe. Maybe not

You’d just have to transfer every time a new server is made because they go full in a day, especially with free transfers, they will full up quicker.

Low Pop Servers if bad enough will get merged. If not that bad then you will be able to pay to transfer in time I’m sure.

I’d rather play on a server with 500 than wait in a queue. To each his own I guess.

Blizzard makes new servers
Implements free transfers
Everyone transfers to said servers
Those servers are now Full

The problem is everyone is (understandably) looking at the right now, not the 6 months from now. Classic isn’t the first game to have had this problem at launch, and many have fell into the trap of mas server openings. By the time they finally forced server mergers, SWtOR had servers where it was taking 2+ hours to make groups, even for tanks and healers.

You realize there is like 50-60k people on these servers right? Vanilla wow had 3k people MAX on a full server. I really don’t think you should be worried. Even if 90% of the player base left you’d still be twice what a High pop vanilla wow server was. Please stop scaring off people from rolling on medium or low pop servers. Those servers will be fine.

I agree we need more servers but we shouldn’t open a new server everytime the new patch fills up until EVERYONE trying to login on launch day can play at the same time. Then when the population decreases by 50% they’re going to what? Merge 3 together?

When the population decreases by 50%, we’ll have 3 hour ques instead of 6 hour ques.

Bruh we need more servers. Literally all of them have a que time. Some are several hours long in the middle of the afternoon on a weekday.

Classic’s playerbase isn’t going to just disappear in a month, it’s probably going to be healthier than Retail until next xpac.

edit I’ve been in the herod que since ~4pm EST this afternoon. It’s now 10:42 and I still have over 2k people ahead of me.

I agree we need more but I don’t think that making 3 new servers every time the previous 3 fill up is a smart idea, it has to stop somewhere.

Then obviously make even more servers… lets say you can have 3000 on a server, and 30,000 in queue. The solution isn’t make 2 new servers, and say “oh no, 9,000 playing 21,000 waiting we fixed nothing” First off, you have 6000 more people enjoying the content instead of staring at a queue window.

The best solution is to make at least 5 or 6 servers so people can actually get in and play, with free transfers as there’s some people who have level 20+s who aren’t as willing to switch off because of the time it took (including queue time) to get that high.

If server pop becomes an issue in 3 months, then by all means, merge servers or offer free transfers to medium pop servers. I for one don’t buy into the “tourist” mentality as much as everyone else is predicting a 70-90% population drop, sure not as many will be playing in a few months, but when Phase 2 drops? And Phase 3? When AQ opens up and everyone already has a level 60 and wants to check it out? Queue times will be right back up there.

If server population is super low and it IS a real problem later on, then simple, just offer free xfers from low to medium pop servers or initiate a merge.

Blizzard can EASILY track this and fix it, but are being far too conservative. Let the people on, let them play what they are paying for, even if it means some maintenence needs to be done down the road.

Why couldn’t they just merge servers? Seems like a simple fix to me if that happens. Or let people transfer out of them in 30 days

This person knows what is up. I hope the community listens to this guy. Not the people who are raging to rage and won’t be here next month because of whatever they are raging on about at that time…but the ones who care about what it left when those clowns move along to their next outrage target.
