Please, stop filling my bags with trash

and i don’t mean grey items. stop filling my bags with crap that i can’t vendor that i don’t want and don’t care about.

i don’t care about mission table veteran contracts. i don’t care about rajani banners. i don’t care about pets that i already have that i can’t trade or vendor or sell on the auction house. i don’t care about zone specific consumables that give meaningless buffs that i don’t need and don’t want to bother with. stuff literally dies so fast that it’s a dps loss to open my bags and use said consumables.

i’m carrying like eight different sets of gear because you couldn’t be bothered to itemize gearing to save your collective lives. i’m carrying potions, scrolls, flasks, runes, codexes and tomes. i’m lucky to have even ten free slots in my bags at any given time, and yet you keep filling those slots up with absolute garbage that i can’t even vendor, and have to manually delete.

please, just stop.

Call me crazy but I actually enjoy the little fun odds and ends that I get from the world. They are fun. Sometimes there are cool little things that I like to keep as mementos.

And to top it all off, you’ll get the loot you purposely avoided picking up, in the mail.
I always know it’s coming and I always hate it, haha.

you are free to keep them. i want to be able to vendor them instead of having to stop three or four times every couple of hours to manually delete pet carriage items or rajani banners or whatever

Grey Items and white items are crap, and have no place in WoW, Circa 2020.

God I wanna cut a big, fat, juicy rant about this and post it on YouTube. Get some WoW-Gamer clout easy doing that!

They sure do have a place. Fun little RP’ish items 100% have a place in an RPG. Not everything needs a purpose.

Back when the game was new, and fresh, and exciting, Min-Maxing wasn’t a thing, and people were exploring the world when it was brand new, a Grey or white weapon was a considerable upgrade compared to the low-level uncommon (green) one you had.

But now, with Grey being relegated to flavor items that nobody else even looks at, and would sooner /trash than vendor, and white items not even registering as collectible appearances for transmogrification, and weekly quest turn-ins practically spoon-feeding you The best possible weapons in the game, I think Blizzard needs to step back, take a second, and seriously re-evaluate the value of a lot of their items.

And uh… while I’m thinking about it, I think my favorite Flavor-Grey I ever got… it was either a Gold tooth from Gold-Tooth the Kobold rare, or the Noble’s Porcelain bell.

What I’m proposing: Full Item template Overhaul. Phase out Grey and white completely.

Green is the new White. It holds as much value, but has zero stigma. All crafting Reagents are Green, except for Green reagents which are now Blue. Purple and Orange quality crafting Reagents can keep their value, based on how difficult they are to attain.

Vendors sell Green gear wholesale, while Blue gear has a limited supply that respawns over time. to prevent AH scalping, all Vendor items are BoP.

The plain clothes on offer at Clothing vendors in all major cities, including Dalaran, both Northrend and Broken Isles Dalaran? actual, equippable gear with armor rating that makes up for lack of stats, excellent starter gear for that Alt with an extra 500 gold from their main toon.

Plus, you can collect the unique weapon appearances available in Dalaran.

Quest rewards, like the Bloodsail Buccaneer’s outfit from “Dressing the Part” is cosmetic green as well, and can be added to your collection, like the Bloodsail Admiral’s Hat.

Vendor trash is gold. Give me more but make it stackable.

surely there are other wow items you can use or make up? I’m also over gray crap in my inventory. They could make more ‘toys’ for those rp’ers or have a junk on/off button on your bag? Getting a green item used to feel somewhat cool back in the day! now green is the new junk you try and sell off unless it’s a decent looking transmorg.

Did you fill up your bank? I haven’t even filled the first two slots lol

They served early purposes in vanilla. Maybe blizz does this in memory :joy:. I also understand some people will use those drops for easier content to save on repair bill.

unless the mobs I kill drop some boe or some world mount drop which is like 0.02 I just don’t loot anymore.

I still have my starter gear for Fairlight, as well as the symbol of attunement for the paladin resurrect spell quest. Among other sentimentalities. (even symbols of kings!)

And to Eitthris, I don’t know if this will help you, but it did me: turning off auto-loot. It feels as if im more in control of the ‘inflow’ as well as helps for RP purposes. I don’t loot humanoids, generally speaking.

God how I hate these things, what’s the point of dropping 1-2 per run if you can only have one active at a time?!

no. absolutely not. the only time you ever used a grey or white weapon was when you first created a new character back in vanilla, and you start replacing them with greens within the first minute.

I dig them more than getting my Nth void froggy pet…

Its very annoying, it is.

My problem is I keep things, thinking I might want to use that at some other point only to find out it only works during a certain zone/expansion. So ‘spring cleaning’ come Shadowlands.

Wtb a bag of holding. …and give us another guild bank tab please.

This is just inflation. Why not liquidate the grey vendor items to equate to gold in the first place? Nevermind anything else. So all whites are just crafting reagents.

I don’t mind the special items existing, but it would be nice if they had a vendor price. Even just 1 copper! Manually deleting things is a bother. Especially when they appear pretty often.
