I am so sick of having to learn my class/spec every time a new expansion comes out and to top it off each change since WotLK just makes the class worse.
I really don’t know who is running the show and doing these decisions and why, but they’re literally ruining the game for me.
I absolutely loved my ret pally until you added holy power and then I hated having to manage that extra resource and now you made holy power on every single pally spec; just awful.
If you’re gonna change a spec so much, at least have two different versions. Let me choose if I want to manage this other resource of just let me keep it the way it was before.
It also sucks that it caps out at 5 so then you’re force to have a specific rotation as to not waste holy power.
And yes, if classic WotLK was up, I’d love to go back and play that, but I’d also love to experience new content without all these class changes.
I’d love if you had the classic specs/classes with the new content. Also, my demon hunter was much more fun to play in legion, so please allow them in this classic game play + new content.
To do that they would have to stop introducing xpac specific powers that screw everything up (like azerite gear and this legendary stuff). Not to mention pvpers would suffer from massive strokes across the globe.
Everything is balanced for pvp and endgame raiding. For those who don’t do either, sorry about your luck.
You want Blizzard to keep what 12 different versions of each class and spec based of which patch you happen to prefer on a live game and some keep it balanced?
They can’t do that now - and they only have one version of the game to work with.
What changed about DH’s since legion? Specifically now about their rotation. Havoc for example. As far as I’m aware the only thing that happened is they got their numbers nerfed.
Is it the numbers or is there a new mechanic or ability they removed/added?
I feel you on this honestly. And to all the people arguing against it, sure I support blizzard making small changes to classes here and there but I think OP and so many others are frustrated with how drastic some of the changes are. Some people get attached to their main class but then blizzard will completely change its spells and playstyles to something that is entirely unfamiliar and in some cases will ruin that class. Seeing how development and tuning for a lot of these classes has been for the last few years, a lot of the classes that get changed dont even get properly tuned and get left out in the trash for many many patches. And combined with all these systems the classes just get rinced and recycled with each patch. How many times has affliction completely changed over the last few expansions? Look at it now, what used to be my favorite class/spec is just a boring ramp up class. Not the dot spec that I miss so much
I have this demon bite talent that I didn’t have before, so something got messed up. It’s basically the same but it’s different and I feel a lot more squishy when I’m fighting and then I kill everything and fully healed.
Demon’s Bite isn’t a talent, its a baseline ability that’s always been in the game since Demon Hunters came out. Also Demon Blades has been an optional talent to get rid of Demon’s Bite since 7.0 as well.
I hear a lot about people saying DH’s suck, but I’ve not seen what major changes they’ve made. I’m sure mechanically there is something major. I suspect without researching right now that it’s just a numbers squish.
It also might just sound like the power changes from the beginning of the expac are hitting you hard. You’re supposed to be weak right now in this raid season. When the raids open up there will be a huge power spike in ilvl. Everyone is kind of squishy right now really.
I tried protection paladin who is level 47 atm to see how holy power is, and i really don’t like it. My rotation feels so bland and uninteresting. My spells all feel like they do barely any damage, and i usually have to play around getting word of glory as my form of self sustain. I also feel like i bring barely anything to the team in forms of utility.
Compared to wotlk like you said, i was a real team player with giant impact. I brought all sort s of amazing buffs in the form of blessings, auras i could change for the right encounter, hands spells, cleanses, damage redirection to me from my teammates, judgements that helped heal everyone or give mana back.
My rotation back than was also insanely fun. My judgement had impact, my avengers shield did real damage, my hammer of the righteous and shield of righteousness did huge damage and wasn’t limited by holy power. Hammer of wrath was also a perfect execute type ability. Blizzard need to stop gutting classes for the sake of freshness
So I had to go back to my demon hunter to remember what had changed. Like I said, haven’t played since Legion pretty much and I remember. Fel rush doesn’t generate fury which is a game changer. Before it was always there if I needed that fury boost, now its not. Blade dance doesn’t dodge 100% anymore. My macros don’t work like they use to. Something got a GCD or something. I have to look into that one more.
I really hate having to re learn how to play a class. All my knowledge, skill, and time playing the class out the window. Just seems like a slap in the face.
It’s like Diablo 3 when you get all this gear for a certain build, or almost get it in two of my cases, and then blizzard nerfs that build… Waste of time.
I was reading on the DH forum section. Its apparent that they pretty much nerfed almost every ability in some impactful way. RIP. That sucks.
Some might say “it can only get better now right?” Ask Survival Hunters. This is the 3rd expansion since the rework. It’s still not good.
I wouldn’t say DH is in the Survival Hunter boat. Not that bad. At least the only thing they would need to do is increase the numbers and some mechanical advantages for DH’s. Its not hard to make them feel better. IMO I’d say it’s only uphill from here honestly. It wouldn’t make sense for them to further gut DH’s.
The problem is Blizzard basically only makes one meta. Instead of making everything equal so that you can play how you want, there is only one way. Then they nerf that way and then you have to find the next build and rotation and it sucks. They try and keep things fresh by doing this but it’s just a slap in the face for me. I’ve been talking with discord with my friends while we play and we’re all being so negative about all these horrible changes, time gates, limits, cov abilities, penatlies… it’s just ruining the game.
The expansion should be fun and exciting, not a bunch of trash talk. We try and look at the positives, but having a hard time when there are so many “What the heck were they thinking? How is this less of a grind? What happened to this ability?” moments.
I pressed way more than 5 buttons, the problem is resource managing. I have to chose between my heal or my shield and it sucks. I can’t do both as each take 3 holy power and I can only hold up to 5.
Adding that with other things they did has made the game play less fun for me and I don’t enjoy the change at all.
And yeah, I don’t like having to re learn every class and their spec and their rotation every expansion. I just don’t have time for it and getting all my knowledge and experience with the class thrown away is just an insult.
