I’ll start by saying that my post was more to the human pally who bumped this to “gloat” about how “This forum is dead now” (although it isn’t even “dead” - so that’s wrong flat out). His posts have really rubbed me the wrong way lately. It wasn’t really at you.
I have gotten the impression that you feel this way lately.
I’m sorry but I disagree with the “one-sided” thing. Having people come onto this forum immediately after the announcement where some went on about how much they hated Classic/Vanilla then proceeded to brag about how “skilled” they are in Retail and how they are superior in every single way. That’s not a good way to get welcomed onto a new forum. Yes, I flagged all the really bad stuff I could and didn’t reply to a lot.
Never in my life have I gone into a new forum and done that, nor would I ever, and I’ve been posting on places like this since '93.
Now were the people on here super welcoming either? No, and I’m not saying that’s right. So I’ll agree with you on that and I am sorry that you have been accused of trolling. I didn’t see that because a lot of my reaction was to leave and do other things instead of being here to watch the madness as I have never visited here to do that. I do know several vacations were handed out.
(Edit and totally off-topic to the rest: Pre-announcement I did see you accused of being a troll by one person who was mostly on the hardcore forum if that’s what you meant. I didn’t understand that whole “war” but I know I made one post during that whole interaction regarding old hurt towards me that you didn’t like but mostly stayed out of all of that whole mess, I didn’t notice you being accused of trolling from anyone else but not saying it didn’t happen. Although if you laugh at frustrated people and make fun of them for things like dying in hardcore being called a troll is bound to happen too because doing that is not really nice)
You’ve been here long enough to know that class changes were one of the things least wanted for the next season according to this forums population pre-announcement. Although I have no doubt that the streamers who get listened to constantly suggested them, and it’s obvious that plenty of Wrath fans and Retail fans who absolutely hate “Vanilla” normally love this so sure maybe it was a good business decision to cater to that, but a near full focus on class changes was not what the posters on this forum were collectively hoping for.
Saying that you shouldn’t be surprised at the disappointment from a lot of the “regulars”. People who were never allowed to talk amongst each other and that’s because a few rude and belligerent newbies were hating on any talk about not loving SoD, while remaining willingly ignorant to any history. So that was probably the cause for a lot of the anger from this previous forum populations “side”.
I think any “gloating” will go down over time but we’ll see. I still think having both forums is healthier overall and that’s why I wanted this personally.
