when you are directly competing in a “life or death” competition with an opponent , i would say being concerned about balance issues is valid.
when its going against a scripted boss encounter or other such pve stuff , it is fine for some people to overperform in some areas.
what helps is if everyone else also overperforms in other ways.
some in aoe, some in single target, some in burst, ect ect.
idealy we would keep that strenght in some areas and still be within a 5-10% at most of the top to the bottom .
instead of asking for nerfs to someone else in pve you should focus on them giving your class/spec strengths of their own or a little bump in overall performance to get within that 5-10% of the top.
i would though say to go off the top 95 % or maybe a little lower for max capability cause the absolute best parses are doctored very much by all sorts of tricks and not really indicative of what regular people will be capable of ,
anyways. ask for pvp balance and let pve be where everyone feels like theyre worth a raid spot.

youre asking for too much
they dont even have calculators
devs basically have 3 criteria
-
warrior bad and must be worst open world class by a huge margin
-
slap wotlk and beyond spells on everyone else
-
pve tank and spank raid boss dps WITH WORLD buffs is semi-close but once buffs are gone HAHA enjoy doing 1/3rd the dmg of other classes

I usually dont agree with you 100% but absolutely do here, balance decisions ahould be based off pvp

Balancing off pve is how things will continue to be as pve is the main focus of this game and the reason why people log in. “Pvp” is second as its a mini game after all! It does not matter if “pvp” is broken. We only care about pve <3 Hope you have a great day Xtrasecksi
seeing as 90% of the balance complaints revolves around PvP I very much agree. also, many here says classic is a much better game and claims it to be a PvE game only and yet it is warriors that tops dps by a mile.
Only turbo nerds that care about third party website parsing really complain about pve balance unless something is terribly wrong.
EVERYONE complains about getting steamrolled by monstrously OP classes or having their own class be dismantled in PVP to appease PVE balance andys like Spriest getting VE cut in half.

ya that was a pve nerf too cause reasons…
but heck that reminds me that vp and dispersion should be able to be both gotten and used at the same time by priests now as things have changed and it wouldnt be imbalanced now.
It’s quite the opposite. Classes get nerfed/buffed based off PvP, not PvE. Person A: “I can’t 1v1 this class, nerf it!”
Blizzard nerfs it.
Person A: “I can’t 1v1 THAT guy either”
Blizzard nerfs it.
Person A: “That dude just beat me while hard casting from the back, you know what to do Blizzard!”
Blizzard nerfs it.
Never have I heard “Ugh Blizzard, this class is way too OP in PvE, it really needs a big nerf so the boss doesn’t go down too fast”.
Shadow priests getting ruined in PvP by having their VE healing cut in half was 100% a PvE balance change.
I saw multiple threads from healers complaining that Shadow priests were doing good healing.
As long as class balancing for pvp is only on players and doesn’t effect pve idc what y’all do wow sod is a pve game with pvp as a side dish.

I do think they should revert that.
