I am patiently waiting for the Warrior class and specifically Arms Warrior redesign to get the Paladin glow up treatment.
Personally I think Arms has button bloat and needs a complete rework. I would like a smoother playstyle with some abilities trim/combined.
Prot could use an overhaul but not as needed as Arms I feel.
Fury is pretty well designed but could use some updating.
Give Warrior bloodlust, nothing makes more sense to me than a warrior battle cry firing up the troops for battle. Just like Paladins got battle res give Warrior bloodlust/heroism.
Also give DPS Warrior more helpful utility in M+. We can’t really cleanse/decurse, so make it where we can have a fear and/or displacement along with shockwave. Just a little more to help the group.
I don’t want to feel like a smooth-brain, hand-holding class like Paladin.
That said, we need something.
I disagree we have button bloat.
But Sweeing Strikes needs to be off the GCD. It feels like the entire game comes to a screeching halt just to press that stupid ability.
We need something. And if that “something” is far-superior DPS, I’m all for that. But if you make Arms an S-tier every tier, as a way of not having any gd utility … then that feels hand-holdy, too. I want to top the meters because I’m a great player, not because I just drool on my keyboard playing an OP class.
edit to add: and in modern WoW, being a constant S-tier doesn’t reward players like me, who have played Warrior since the beta for Vanilla. But it just makes every sweaty streamer weeb “switch their main” to Warrior. Having 9 “mains” … isn’t having a main.
I agree with Arms button bloat. Why are there five-ish 45 second cooldowns? What is the purpose here? Majorly sporadic damage? Why are they all on the GCD?
Prot is fine but I wouldn’t be against a change. I hate Fury with a passion now that’s it an APM-fest. Not too concerned with fixing it. Let it be a “flavor” spec.
But I’m fine to table this discussion for 1-2 weeks. The current damage profiles revolve around the fact almost no one has 2-piece, and certainly not 4-piece. Which is how Blizzard balances.
So… for now, although the Warrior class as a whole has issues, the overall damage element has a “wait and see” variable to it.
I just have no historical reason to trust that “wait and see.” Also the rather obvious fact: No one else has their 2/4 piece EITHER. So… things aren’t likely to change much.
Ehh that’s debatable. I could have four set now if I wanted to catalyze champ/vet track. I’m choosing to only Cata hero track or
Higher. It’s very possible to get 4 set week one.
Arms gets 4% bonus from 2set and 11% bonus from 4 set.
I’ve always hated that ability. It never feels good to press. It should either be off the gcd, or it should be an attack in its own right. Like a super cleave, that then gives you the usual sweeping strikes effect.
Bloodlust Shout. How this isn’t already a thing is beyond me.
A talent that makes IV remove poisons and diseases on self
I feel like that’s just bringing them back up on par with the other tanks for utility. I’d also enjoy a buff to Rally for 5 man content. But I count this as a nice to have, not a “need”.
Tell me you’ve never been to the Warrior Discord or read Warrior forums without telling me.
The Warrior channels are the only ones I’ve ever read that ever mention how “if we had X, we’d be too powerful. That’s not a good idea.” The class writer for Skyhold/Wowhead/ Icyveins (Archimtiros) often remarks about how things on the PTR are too strong.
You’re confusing Warriors with Paladins. Who not only top meters, but have endless utility. And it’s never good enough. They always want more.
But it’s the kind of post I would expect from you.
