I find it to be a big disrespect to afford mages an entire nearly 3700 character post for the background of a recent frost nova bug that they are addressing;
While a system I have gotten used to (and enjoyed) playing for 2 years as a paying customer gets a measly seventy two character response with no background whatsoever.
Very strange.

What talent and/or item combo leads you to believe that rogues benefit from jumping?
Your stance that it is an exploit is not supported - no player is gaining an unfair advantage over another. Blizzard would remove the talent and helm if that were the case. Look at the tier 0.5 quest item that generated threat from buffing raid members - gone within a week. Powershifting is staying. Currently it is in a clunky form, due to the way energy channels were executed, including a rogue ability.
It seems that you should talk to more feral druids that like to challenge themselves.

This change completely ruins playing cat druid. We are at the point where a druid is now only a tank, DPS may be the worst in the game.

Hoping this gets changed/fixed.

Please revert this change, makes feral cat unplayable competitively in a world where we’re already struggling for raid spots.

Getting world buffs if not fun must have been a bug. pressing slice and dice is not fun, must be a bug/exploit, 0.5 dungeon set giving back energy was an unintended bug, no one is allowed to just create energy from nothing especially cruddy blue gear from phase 1… since when was fun the measure of DPS?? it’s literally just neutering of an already underwhelming class.
If every druid could increase their attack speed by 25% by spending some combo points they would. everyone would be pressing slice and dice even though it is an exploit.

Man I was really excited to purchase the Burning Crusade Classic Deluxe Edition ™ but because of this change I won’t. Druid is the class I have played since phase 1. Guess another company will have to take my money

Feral dps is unique and different. It’s more of a complicated rotation than your average spec. Having to use a level 40 helm at level 70 just to be competitive isn’t ideal, but it’s unique and different. I like being unique and different, it’s why I play feral dps.
Really hope Blizzard sees this post and realizes there’s a lot more feral dps druids who have been effected than probably expected and makes another change before launch. You helped out the Ret community, please help us out.

I dont get the justification on nerfing an already weaker spec. It’s not like with the 80 energy feral was high tier dps. They were still mid-low pack dps. Can someone give me a reasonable explanation as to why this was needed?

My guild is letting me be full time cat dps in BC instead of the half and half bear/cat. If the cat rotation ends up being as bad as people are saying I might just end up being full time tank by choice.

If they don’t fix it, they should compensate by buffing something else, like reducing the energy costs of everything or something. This is silly.

Short form, I agree, energy should be changed back to like Classic now.
Longer form, the original change went in late in TBC and was unintentional, so sticking feral with an unintentional nerf for the entirety of TBC classic is just beating upon one of the lower DPS specs for no reason. The change of tick rate on shift also makes 0 sense. The whole point of the 2.2 patch change was to support changing resource earn rates. Energy is always 20/tick, there is no changing rate, the patch code shouldn’t even be firing.
I’d also suggest the tick change over Furor or the Helm. First, the tick system was how it used to be for more of TBC, so makes far more sense. Secondly, changing Furor means you’re picking from weird numbers and breaking the clean 20tick system. Now, I’d love Furor to give +60, but I’ll also admit that’s a slight buff.
Lastly, people need to stop discussing the helm in the same breath. The helm != powershifting. You can powershift without the helm, so I don’t want the fix attached to only the helm. And people who cheer this change because they want the helm nerfed misunderstand how the system works. None of these tick timer changes nerf the helm itself.

if anything the change just makes helm even more mandatory.

unless they add a helm that increases your mana pool by 50%, Yup. We’ll all be stuck in a 3 ( 4 including the shift) GCD powershifing meta… aka rerolling class or more likely game.

id have to test this stuff out, but just based on the numbers I feel like I might be griefing my raid group if im mono-feral after this. I dont want to feel like im screwing over people I enjoy playing with so I can play the spec I enjoy. Feral does not have the utility to justify this level of hybrid tax on dps.

With feral cat DPS already being lackluster, this change impacts players pushing their characters to the limit in TBC. Fix ferals blizz!
