Please revert fan the hammer change

Please revert the fan the hammer change. I understand it is a nerf. Roughly 1.5% according to sims. That’s fine. I don’t care about the damage. Give us a 1.5,2, or even 3% aura nerf. But please don’t change how the class flows like this. This rotation used to be fluid and smooth. And now it feels clunky at best.

I understand damage tuning. That’s fine, but please revert this change. I don’t think I have talked to a single rogue in game or in the discord that appreciates this change or enjoys it. Please revert asap.

amen. i’d happily take a clean flat nerf over this mess that feels bad to play.

its done! Rotation feels clunky at best without broadside. I couldn’t even bring myself to join any M+ groups! Did few more sessions on training dummies, its so bad. Why would you change core aspect of rotation at this time in season!

i dont think they care for rogues anymore. click blizz tracker in rogue forum and you notice only 2 blue posts are shown, one from 2022 and one from 2019.

were on our own lol

Because the people running class balance and tuning are idiots. There are other words I’d use but they won’t let me and I’d probably get a vacation for it.

You know what’s dumb? It would’ve taken someone on the Blizz team who plays Outlaw literally like 15 seconds to see that this FtH change was terrible. They would’ve logged in, done a basic rotation and been like “oh no that’s terrible, scrap this idiotic idea” and we probably would’ve got just a flat 10% nerf to something. But nope, we’re stuck with idiots running this train.

Arguably the nerf to Fan the Hammer might not feel so bad if Sinister Strike had its energy cost reduced to compensate. I feel like the primary issue right now is simply the fact that Outlaw ends up at 5 or 6 combo points way too often, necessitating a use of Sinister Strike at least once if Audacity isn’t up. This feels bad when Sinister Strike costs a whopping 45 energy; Sinister Strike costs 5 less energy than an Ambush and doesn’t even deal half of Ambush’s damage. Hell, Backstab from Subtlety does more damage baseline than Sinister Strike for only 35 energy and then has its damage increased by 20% if behind the target. There should really be no reason not to decrease Sinister Strike’s energy cost to at least 40 (though I feel 35 is ideal) if you insist on gimping the combo point flow of the spec.

You should finish on 6 or 7, don’t build on 6.

It’s not that bad just adjust rotation, this just filters the baddies

You keep posting about “finding a work around” and “filtering baddies”. And you’re missing the point. The nerf is a negligible 1.5% damage loss. DPS-wise, you won’t feel it. The work around is simple. Throw an SS/Ambush with Audacity. People aren’t complaining about the loss of damage or that the mechanics are impossibly difficult now. They’re complaining it’s not as fun.

Mechanically, rotations aren’t as enjoyable. That is why people are complaining. This was less of a dps nerf and more of an enjoyment nerf.

The issue is that you no longer finish on 6 or 7 with the Fan the Hammer nerf, no? Unless I am completely missing something, more often than not you’ll finish on 5 combo points, which essentially makes both Stratagem talents dead talents. On my own testing on a dummy, I’ll usually finish on five combo points and sometimes the stars will align and I’ll finish on six instead. So… maybe half of a five minute combat I’ll end up on 6 combo points and can then finish, but the remaining half of the five minute combat I’ll end up on 5 combo points and have to build. Which feels bad because Sinister takes up a huge chunk of energy for crap damage.

Previously the spec felt very fluid, always pressing buttons similar to Fury Warriors. But now there’s this bit of dead space to the spec where you’re sitting there like an idiot auto attacking while you’re waiting for energy.

I came here to write the same thing. I played outlaw in a dungeon since the change and nothing feels worse than just sitting there waiting for energy. Hoping this gets reverted :(.

You use a builder at 5 cp after pistol shot to finish at either 6 or 7.

The stratagem talents still sim out the best.

Honestly if you wanted to restore the “flow” at the cost of damage, I suppose you could drop the stratagem talents
