I saw a player with the Auspicious Arborwyrm mount in Wrath Classic in Dal and fell in love, I hemmed and hawed about subbing for 6 months over the last couple of days, and then decided to go forward with it to find then learn it was a bug after googling why it wasn’t in my mounts tab.
It really stings to lose out on because it’s a gorgeous mount and the confusion of having seen it in game, I’d love for it to be available for Wrath Classic since it’s the only server I play on.
I think the simple fact that it was in the game, bug or not, would have been enough to convince quite a number of players to buy it, and thus should be returned to Classic. If not, everyone should be able to get a full refund otherwise it’s a scam, plain and simple.
It was advertised as Retail only, it’s your fault for not reading.
I’m sorry I don’t understand what you mean by fault? I’m requesting that Blizzard reconsider their stance of the mount remaining Retail only.
I’m saying that if you bought the 6 month sub because of the mount, saw it wasn’t in your WotLK mount tab and regretted the purchase because of it then it’s your own fault for not reading. It’s clearly stated that the mount is for Retail and that the pet is for Classic.
It might be a pretty mount but it was never intended for WotLK.
Maybe read the description before buying something. It says it’s not available in Classic.
But by all means play Retail if you want Retail mounts. Keep that crap out of Classic. It should retain just a tad of its self respect by not going down the same ridiculous path Retail took with absurd mounts and pets that have no place in the Warcraft world.
However, sadly the whales have flooded Classic and Blizzard will probably do to it what it did to the game the first time.
What’s interesting between you and everyone else that is doubling down about not reading the description is the disregard of nuance in your argument. Why would I read to check if something is available in Classic if I saw that it was in Classic while I was playing? It looks similar to the Cata bundle in the store that includes the Avatar of Flame which is in Classic, so there is even less reason to double check.
And does it even disrupt Azeroth’s aesthetic? It’s a dragon made of living tree. I’m pretty sure we have drakes and dragons, as well as druidic magic that conjures living trees/vines.
But with the bitterness the “read the fine print” arguments have been coming from I doubt that you’re open to reading what I’m saying here and I’m just wasting pixels at this point.

For some yes. Classic, despite what most people think, is mostly made out of OG players that don’t want new mounts. There was already a big riot because of all the heroic edition mounts (TBC/Wrath/Cata).
