I know you would like to think players help each other but unfortunately that’s not the case. Some players think it’s “funny” to put fake pins on the map when Beledar is up and send people in the opposite direction of where it actually spawned.
They also blow every cool down they have because since they can’t top the meters in LFR, they’re going to do it on this rare.
It don’t need to be a world Boss.
They Just need to put a ícon appearing on the map location and make it immune to damage during 2 min. Exactly how dreamsurge works.
This is unnecessary as there is a renown item you can purchase that will show the spawn’s location. If you don’t get it now you can farm with more accuracy once you hit the required renown level.
The jab at your fellow players was unnecessary as well, do better Tovi.
This wasn’t a good idea back in BfA with Soundless and it’s still not a good idea now. Hell, never thought I was say this but Soundless is cake to farm compared to Beledar since trolls think it’s hilarious to give people fake pins.
They haven’t proven any point beyond “it be funny to troll your fellow players at times” which… some folks do it more than others, but yes? Even I who dislike trolling at least understand that yes, there’s players who like to trick other players.
Congratulations to what some social interactions mean at times. That’s all it proves. Learn where stuff spawn, ask for other players to confirm things, or… really anything. Could Blizzard ‘fix’ this? Sure, but it probably would need to be more problematic than a social interaction regarding a rare because … that doesn’t sound like much of an issue and more a feature of what social interactions sometimes mean. And guess what…
One can debate whether it is good or not, but there is a precedence, and if the only argument is “I got trolled by being tricked by another player so Blizzard should implement something to fix a rare dying before I could get to it” is… not a convincing argument.
I’m definitely for a balanced approach to rare’s and mounts they drop. I don’t think everyone should easily get it. Somebody could argue with me until they’re blue in the face that we should all just get the same things “who cares”, but hyper homogenization just is not good at all, and making everything easy will cause it.
Why do you think everyone wants the mount to begin with? It’s because it’s right now a rare new mount, from a rare.
Rare items inherently increase it’s value, monetarily or not. If it’s dirt easy to get, it’s not fun. Going on a hunt is fun, as long as you can handle a hunt. Lets be real, people kill him 3 times and start getting grumpy if the mount doesn’t drop.
Just have him respawn every 30mins during the purple crystal, buff his hp, and add a 3 minute immunity shield so that the inconsiderate / griefing players can’t ruin it for everyone else.
Knowing the location of the Spawn doesn’t matter if its dead in 30-seconds - I agree with the others in the 2-min immunity to allow others to get a shot at the mount.
I have no dog in this fight because I was lucky enough to get it early, but I have several friends that really want it and its almost always attacked before the first pin hits chat.
There’s no reason why we need to accept that kind of thing for a service that we pay a monthly fee for. Recreational time should be enjoyable, not unnecessarily frustrating.
Your statement is indicating that there’s a problem. I’m saying there isn’t one.
You elude the problem is that folks like to have fun and mess with other players in non-exploitative ways. My point is… welcome to social interactions; if you get tricked and feel this deeply hurt and upset about it, put that player on ignore and ask for verification next time.
You pay for server access. Nothing else.
Sure, and if you feel this upset about paying for access to a server where people engage in social interactions … don’t. I’d also recommend not playing MMOs or probably multiplayer games at all in that case.
What folks were doing in this example is messing with other players. Nothing to the degree you or Tovi elude towards in the slightest. So if you find socializing in games where people can (and often are encouraged to) mess with other players … don’t play games with social interactions? Just a thought.
