Please restrict posting and thread creation

…to those with a minimum read time on the forum.

In case the blues have not noticed there has been a large influx of threads being created and old threads being bumped with people with less than 30 minutes total forum viewing. Many are doing so after only a couple minutes then popping back off never to be seen again.

i hear the race track down in thousand needles has some great ice cream, strawberry i think

i used to advocate that gnomes should be a food source. If you kill one in PVP, you can loot meat.

When a toon gets a name change and then posts on the forums under that new name, it resets the counter for that toon to 0. For all you know, some of them (like me) could have been reading and posting in the forums for over a decade. Not a good call.

Let people post what they will. If you think someone is trolling just to troll then report them.

He has a very good point t guys. Exactly what does changing your avatar add to the conversation? Nothing. Nothing at all. It’s being used in attempt to show more support than their really is. Influence conversation. Derail topics. Oh and ofc trolling.
Does nothing but hinder communication. There is not even one good reason why we need multiple avatars. RP. That is it. That can be done with our btag attached to our avatars.

Add our btag names to our forum avatars. Just like all of blizz’s other forums use. That will stop a great deal of this white noise and promote good communication.

I changed my posting character from one that was very well-established on the old forums in GD and was getting well-established here. I started over from 0 posts with this guy.

I didn’t do it for any of those reasons. My positions on all the various topics are the same on both characters. No, I will not say what my old character was and please do not ask. If you (general you) has figured it out then please keep it to yourself.

I do think you should be identified by your btag so no one can hide. Post history should not be allowed to be hidden either.

I get that. Honestly I do. Some like BW here call it out when they do. Just because they don’t have ulterior motives. You can clearly see the attempt in the squelch thread at the begining of thread by low rep avatars that just disappear.
I’ve been carrying on about this for awhile. The old forums hid them a little better because post counts were account wide. With individual stats and because we have some time accumulating those stats now. Fresh avatars stand out like sore thumbs. Throw in the most extreme topics that cause inflammatory discussions. Well. You can see what I’m getting at. This is one of the things this system does well.

One more step of adding our btag and we will see a significant change in the amount of white noise we see here.
We may even be able to persuade blizz to take our community a bit more serious.

Now I know this also creates a situation where actual new people may be mistaken and accused of shadow alting. I’m not saying every low level rep avatar is just trolling. Some may even switch avatars to avoid certain posters.

There’s a fix for this. Bring back the ignore and add our btag to all of our avatars. Solves a lot of issues with communication on our end. It even builds that feeling of community right here on the forums that everyone so misses.
Everyone wants community in game. Why not here? Same people we will be playing with. Plenty of social interaction if we engage each other.

Yes I acknowledged this above. I don’t take issue with reasons beyond alt brigading to influence discussions, derailing legit discussion, and just trolling.
Someone rerolling and avoiding pitfalls (whatever they may be possibly false flag victims)they found is a bit different than intentionally “blowing an issue up” by alt brigading it to influence public opinion.

So I stand corrected. There are a few legit reasons to change your avatar.
You still have this option with your btag too. Just costs $10 after the first one. <<Oh looky here. If this forum used btags this is an mtx I would support. Wanna troll on a new btag? Cost em 10 bucks. Lol

More incentive not to be a thorn in the community’s side. Not saying you. Just in general to those who are.

Your secret is safe with me Clark!

I agree with u!

I actually agree about the battletags. Yes-- if someone really needs the privacy or wants to troll that badly, then a new btag can be had for $10.

A few years ago, there was a browser plugin called Cogshanks that I used. I didn’t mind people seeing which were my alts because I didn’t troll the forums. However when that plugin was available, one thing that was eye-opening was how much it exposed about people’s behavior on these forums. It’s amazing how much sockpuppeting goes on. Cogshanks made calling out sockpuppeting hilariously easy and fun (although a lot of people were infuriated by it, enough so that Blizzard finally gave in and broke the plugin. RIP Cogshanks.)

Cogshanks was amazing. Once had someone accuse me of “doxxing them” for ousting their main.
