Please restart the lore

I had 15 years playing this game and i can tell the quiality was good until Pandaria, WOD was a good idea, but was poorly executed so at this point the game start to be weird, things like our character was the center from something Cosmic or Important to the universe… come on! Sometimes less is more. Even Legion a good gameplay expansion had kinda dissaster with the Lore theme, Sargeras was totaly wasted. And i don’t want to talk about Nyalotha and N’zoth… We have to stop focus about Titan things or Sylvanas fanservice, this is ruining the game and Lore, blizzard have to stop giving more importance to especific characters or even the player, i hate everytime that Thrall or Jaina call me “hero” or “maw walker” i don’t want this rank, i just want to be a soldier or anything except that. Just please restart the game, make a patch that destroy the universe and make a new start, or almost if you are going to continue this nonsense, just kill Sylvanas already and focus in the WAR the game name is WARCRAFT, no Peacecraft or Cosmic Astronomycraft.

BTW English is not my native language so… yeah, strike me with all you have if u want.

We already have that, with BFA but i say before, was poorly ejecuted. Rememben when they say that Kalimdor will be for the Horde and E. Kingdom for Alliance? Do we have a battle for azeorth? Because i don’t saw any but Darkshore and Undercity.

Do you? Or just maybe i just lost those quest and lore. And yeah i saw what they do with the followers from the ship.

If the current team were to restart the lore… it would be exactly what you dislike about current lore, but from the beginning. Keep that in mind, and be careful what you wish for!

What they need to do is just reset. Take everything down a notch and focus on creating new characters (that aren’t god tier powerful) that they introduce to us and we watch them grow over a longer period of time than just a few patches. The characters need to be consistent and have an arc, where they see a problem and solve it. At the end of the arc, they need to remember that character exists and keep weaving them back into new stories that they tell.

LOL, you want them to start an ENTIRE new universe, with new characters and lore, when you are admitting in your OP that Blizzard can’t even handle what they have now. Either you’re trolling, or you just… legitimately don’t understand how stories work. Remember Overwatch? A BRAND NEW IP with about two inches of story and lore depth? How long has it taken to get any SERIOUS lore out of that IP? Hrm? When does Overwatch 2 come out?

The lore is in the best place it’s been since, well. Since WoW lore was a thing. Nothing comes close to it. Not the Arthas storyline, not the Burning Crusade or Legion storylines.

Until they start making everything about the game good and compelling, please DONT ‘restart’ anything

You don’t have to reset the game. You simply walk it back. And by this I mean, progress the current story arc for continuity sake, but slowly de-escalate any further plot conflicts while introducing smaller sub plot conflicts. Once the MQ of the current expansion concludes, there are X number of sub plots already in action.

Now rather than one MQ, you have multiple sub plot quest lines to pursue.

Another way to expand on this to create content is to make each of the two main factions (Horde and Alliance) have different MQ lines, similar to StarCraft. If you want to experience the sub plot MQ lines from Horde perspective for the Horde version, roll a Horde. Re-roll Alliance if you want to experience that version. The increases the lifespan of the MQ.

Here’s an example:

Sylvanas has all eyes on whats happening in Shadowlands.

In the meantime Turalyon is Regent of Stormwind. He decides he wants to resettle Lordaeron and move the Alliance power base there. This brings friction with the Scarlet Crusade, Quelthelas/Silvermoon City, and other subfactions. Now there are several sub plots in action to explore.

Meanwhile in Kalimdor other sub-plots are occurring as, I dunno, perhaps WoW actually develops goblin lore as more than a novel distraction and does something substantial with them in Azshara, bringing them in to conflict with the naga there in a real, substantial game setting subplot.

Northrend has it’s own subplots, Pandaland, Broken Isles, etc. You get the gist.

There is plenty of lore already written but unexplored in WoW today without having to dedicate an entire expansion to a single major, over encompassing MQ with the antagonist being some universal threat to all existence. Instead smaller sub plots can be made allowing players to focus on areas they are most interested in as players rather than being spoon fed content they may otherwise not care to play through.

Just tone down the epic’ness of the MQ’s and walk it down while building up the smaller subplots. No need for a hard reset. It’s far better to ease people in to changing a meta than to hard reset it entirely.

I’m considering creating a fan made revamp of the lore. I just dont know how interested people would be in it to get me to start
