While I wouldn’t mind seeing free for all transmogging, I’d be happy enough if we just got a lot more cosmetic sets, maybe even cosmetic versions of existing non-class specific sets so I could mix and match more freely.
Here’s a faux plate outfit that any Mage Priest or Warlock can wear:

But the mages wearing plate in lore, along with plate skirts looking like cloth, all heritage armor, the 9.2 Covenant sets, store transmogs and the Stormwind Guard set does.
All of the above examples already make your argument moot. You should already know in PvP what class you’re attacking without seeing armor.

It would be like Elder Scroll Online and it would be amazing. I love my necromancer and sorcerer in full plate armor. Looks super dope
