I feel that it could use some more thought. For example, one person getting bounced out of Ritual of Woe on last boss in a 15 HoA yesterday pretty much ended the fight fast. I don’t think it needs to be removed, but could be a bit less melee unfriendly. Perhaps keeping the tornadoes stationary? I know some people enjoy the challenge of dodging them, but I personally prefer not to tank on Storming week, at least if there are many melee in the group.
Storming should slow you not knock you up.
Perhaps they could offer a damage increase depending on your proximity to them to give melee something positive for putting up with them and encourage range to play closer to the mobs and risk more instead of being safe from most mechanics at 30 yds.
that would be good! the tradeoff could be ranged get a damage buff that stacks whenever they’re moving since they can’t do damage then.
No. The only affixes more free than Storming are Explosive and Volcanic.
Then they’d have to add it to volcanic. These affixes are virtually identical.
These threads are weird. The purpose of affixes is to either slow you down and/or increase likelihood of failure. If it were overtuned, then sure, but the tornadoes aren’t that bad.
I think what they can do to balance it out is make the tornados disappear after getting hit by one. Having it persists for x amount of time is incredibly annoying.
If storming is knocking you up, there are definitely issues afoot.
Anyhow, yes… not a single one of these affixes qualifies as entertaining, but storming is really all about how well your tank moves mobs around. If he / she is stationary, the rest of your melee group (jk, why would you ever bring one of those) is going to have to contend with the additional movement themselves.
It is annoying but by far not the worse affix imo. And that is coming from some who primarily plays melee.
How about it does no damage it just CC 1 person hit in place per cyclone. So if someone screws up it just slows the rundown since dps will be lacking. Immune to damage while cyclone and able to block beams. Might be able to make some unique plays with nice timing.
Found my new pet peeve: spiteful week. Storming is just plain annoying but spiteful can easily wreck a run. I completely dislike popping Chi-Ji during Pride only to have those annoying things chase you out of melee range and prevents you from fist weaving to heal up pride.
Not exactly the best situation to be in with a fortified pride and grievous ticking. Saving RoP and leg sweep for this moment is a good counter play but sucks hard when both are down.
I love Spiteful. I just ignore them.
you can’t ignore them on certain areas. Like the Hakkar Corridor, is a little tight, so you have to deal with them…also on mists, these spitefuls keep you in combat and prevent you from entering portals in the maze once you defeat the enemies of each clearing. Depending on how crazy things get, that can be a pain in the butt especially when the pride comes…those things have to die immediately.
Otherwise, stuns, cc and snares are def the best immediate responses
When you’re a melee, Spiteful is a pain in the butt. I can’t imagine what it’s like as a healer for spiteful to be kicking your group’s butt and you can’t heal them or you’ll get hit
Balance affinity resto-druids have an easy time dealing with it, because we have so much utility and a bunch of snares/stuns at our disposal (typhoon, entangle, cyclone, stamp roar, shadowmeld for NE, etc.)
I always wondered what other healers like Paladins do to survive in small corridors vs spitefuls…like on DoS or in ToP
Storming is annoying, sure, but spiteful is worse imo.
I’ll tell you tomorrow after I run on my Paladin tonight. Probably by saving Hammer for when they get targeted and otherwise hoping their team is competent.
gl friend i believe in you
