Please remove Spy addon from the game

I’d just like to create a petition on removing this addon. Technically it is a cheat in the form of a good guy costume. It’s against policy rules to have a third party program basically tell you who is in the area, how many people there are and where they are. It should not be allowed in the game and it’s ruining the fun of it.

I sat behind a shack in dustwallow marsh alliance town on the docks… and I was completely hidden and theres 0 reason a priest, should be able to target me off of that and just mind vision me when if the addon didnt exist, he wouldnt even know im around.

Remove it please.

An addon literally cannot cheat as we can only use functions that blizzard allows us with the modding API.

He might as well just have tab targeted you.

Yeah… Are you sure they didn’t have name plates or tab targeted you? There are various ways to target someone behind LoS.

What is there to disable? No addon in the world tells you where an enemy is, if you’re running BGs then you can simply open up the BG window and see everyone…

It also notifies you when it detects an enemy player that is stealthing, perfect for countering those pesky rogues.

The Spy addon scans the combat log for actions performed by enemy players and announces their presence when they are detected.

Nothing that a human cannot do. Weakauras can also do that.

Because humans can scan the open world to find rogues and feral druids during WPvP. This has been a huge issue in Classic lately, and a fairly bad issue in retail for many years.

You really have no idea what you’re even talking about.

You quite literally have a combat log chat window you can look at, make it bigger, move it around, the addon simply cannot get information your client is not supposed to know. You most likely don’t know a lot about how modding works.

The addon will let players know of stealth players before they come out of stealth just by being in a certain vicinity from the player who is using the addon. The stealth player doesn’t have to initiate combat or come out of stealth to be seen by the addon, all they have to do is be within a large vicinity of the player using the addon.

Please figure out what you’re talking about before you try correcting me.

The best thing about Spy is that it exposes people who can only win in WPvP when they have the advantage of getting the jump.

Crappy when you’re waiting on that mage to pull a couple mobs before attacking, but he doesn’t because he knows you’re lurking, ready to gank and spam /spit on him.

I’m not familiar with this specific addon but yeah many of them do things that can give a big advantage over non-users, and nobody should be forced to use addons in order to play the game properly.

Blizz should just improve it’s game, integrating the most important ones like UI improvements, Aucion House information etc and remove all addons.

I don’t really care what you do, you didn’t even know what the addon was or how it worked until I just told you. You thought you could move around a combat log window and make it bigger and produce the same result as the addon. lol

You’ve got no idea what the addon even is. Why try to correct me when you don’t know? lol

Umm what. If you are already in stealth, spy has no idea you are near. All the stealth alert does is warn someone when a person enters range of the combat log casts the stealth ability .
