I know this is a big topic but I just want to echo on this subject. I’m a new player and I’ve trying most of the classes to get a feel for them, in preparation to Midnight. I don’t know when it started but this purple smoke just started at some point and I couldn’t get rid of it, I mogged my toon and you can’t even see it really, so whats the point of that?
So I came to the forums to see if I was missing anything and now I’m seeing all the comments about this. Well at least I’m not alone on this issue. Anyway, if this is how its going to be, I’m going back to my Warlock. Its a shame because I was really enjoying the play style of the class.
Hopefully the Devs see enough of this subject to consider making a change or add a toggle if we want it removed.

There’s a glyph you can equip to take away most of the effect of shadow form.
Do you know the name or where I can find this glyph?

It’s on the auction house. It’s been years since I got mine. I think it’s glyph of shadows. But I could be wrong.
If you go to the AH and look for the priest glyphs you’ll find it. We only have a few to choose from.

I use a combination of glyph of shadows and the heartsbane curse toy from BfA. It’s a pretty neat visual.

Just give us a Glyph for the Oldschool Shadowform

I’ve been leveling a priest in classic and I gotta say, old shadow does look nice.

I was able to get the glyph, its not as bad but my character still looks like they need a shower with that purple smoke coming off of her. I switched over to my Mage currently. That smoke is too distracting for my OCD and ADHD (ha)

I don’t mind the visual so much but the smoke causing a strobe effect when flying gives me a headache.
Personal opinion but both the un-glyphed and glyphed Shadowforms are bad.
I’d love to see:
- glyph of old-school shadow
- probably a glyph that does not make you purple in any way but we could have shadowy orbs / ravens flying around us that indicates that the Priest is Shadow.
Just a dream but I’d love glyph stacking to have the old Shadowform AND permanent ravens circling around my character

Others mentioned the glyph, and I see you got it and are not a fan. My wish would be that shadow form can be toggled on and off, but if it’s in the off position you automatically enter shadow form in combat and exit once combat is over.
As someone who loves the current shadowform, I’m gonna propose something:
Warlocks got demon customization in the Barbershop.
Druids got form customization in the Barbershop.
What if Shadow Priests got Shadowform customization options for the Barbershop? Perhaps even adding different customization options as they make sense (and considering the upcoming expac, it certainly makes sense).
I’d even go so far as to say this can and should be implemented further to other classes. For example, Unholy DK ghoul customization. But I’ll stop my brainstorming there since this is about Shadowform for Priests.
