Please remove materials required for T2.5

Would love the devs to consider removing the materials required to complete the 2.5 armor quests. After the update to Nightmare Dragons, 4 of the 5 pieces are a lot more accessible, which is fantastic for catching up on gear for new / alt players.

However, the cost of idols and scarabs has exploded. For example, to complete the Paladin T2.5 shoulder quest, you need 2x Idol of Life and 10x Stone Scarabs. Those idols are currently 800g for the pair and 30g for the scarabs. 830g makes it almost impossible to complete as a new player.

Also, the T1 and T2 pieces do not require any materials, which has been great.

Thanks for considering!

Thats not constructive what so ever.

Even during last phase Idols of Rebirth were like 250-300g, and I have a Resto and Feral set… Think I needed 4 total? My only input is to buff the drop rate of the idols somehow for those running an AQ40.

Edit: I don’t think they should completely remove the cost, I think a lot of peeps’ BiS uses 2/4 pieces of 2.5 outside of Naxx.

Perhaps upping the rate in which idols appear in the reals material box would be super helpful too.

you guys do know with one of the boxes from real vendors you can get idols and stuff.

maybe look into that?

the crates are helpful but the drop rates of idols in crates is really low. I bought 13 crates and got 1 idol. Would be great if it was more a 50% or 100% idol in crate drop rate at least.

that i would be ok with as you have to work for it.

taking out all work is silly.

even with people getting boosted, someone had to put in the work to get the gold for it and they have to sit for 6hrs + to lvl.

im not a fan of taking all the work out of it though.

Exactly. Just because a new or returning player leveled up, got enough gear to get into an aq40 or nightmare dragon run, won the roll on a tier 2.5 token/mat, doesn’t mean they just get it for free.

They need to earn 800+ gold for the idols and scarabs before they can turn in that token for the actual gear.

Better go spend 8+ hours grinding gold. Need to put in the work. No surprise that vast majority of the remaining sod playerbase just swipes for gold with stupid systems like this still in place. Paying almost 1k gold to turn in a tier token you won from a raid is a terrible system that just incentivizes RMT.

Bro u can make 1k gold by just faring in silithus or doing runecloth farms. I personally farm live strat for orbs. It’s really easy to get gold.

So right now those sell for about 70g on my server. So if you wanted to turn in your tier 2.5 token you won, you’d need to farm about 12 orbs from strat to sell. How long does that take?

If you wanted to just buy that amount of gold it would cost about $3.50.

Making players spend 800+ gold to turn in tier token they won in a raid is awful design. Just add a real box to the vendor that guarantees to have 5 random idols in it, cut the idol requirement in half or just remove it, add idols to the real vendor for 20 a piece. So many better ways to handle this.

Or get this. Great design. Join a guild. That consolidates reals and mats from the raid to help gear out players. Otherwise ye. Buy gold and get banned. Making people farm gold/old content to buy bis/near bis gear is the design of an MMO with an economy.

:joy: you actually think players haven’t figured out how to buy gold without getting banned?

You’re not buying a piece of gear. You’re buying a material you need to turn in a token you won in a raid. Buying expensive boe’s and buying mats to turn in a tier token is completely different.

T1 and T2 gear didn’t have this system. Win token, turn it in, get gear.

T2.5 and 3 is win token, pay 800+ gold for mats, then get gear.

So then don’t get t2.5/t3. If u don’t want to play the game that’s ok. U shouldn’t just get everything for free.

You have to be trolling or you legitimately have an iq so low they put instructions on shampoo bottles for people like you.

Leveling to 60. Spending weeks grinding dungeons and raid for reals. Finally getting geared enough to go do an aq40 or dragons. Completing the raid and winning a token.

If you turn in the token for gear like we did all of T1 and 2, that’s bad design to you. I don’t remember seeing your complaint posts that people were getting t1 and 2 for free when they were current content.

But making that player then spend 8 hours grinding gold to be able to buy the mats needed to turn in the tier, that’s good design.

If u need 8 hours to make 800g idk man. You’re doing something wrong. end game bis gear that have mats dropping out of crates u can spend reals on seems completely fine by me. I make like 500-600g an hour farming worms in silithus. So I’m not really sure why it’s a bad design to have to do things that stimulate the economy in a MMO. I think you just want to raid log and get the best gear in the game only playing 1-2 nights a week. Alternatively just join a guild. Most guild have a gbank system and are more than happy to help out.

22 boxes now one blue Idol. Was not buying for the idol just didnt want Wartorn plate cause F that junk. So went with the old boxes IDOLS are not often from them

Imo just have 2.5 free and make t3 just scraps.

The solution is for idols to drop more in AQ, and not to remove the material cost.

You want to keep AQ relevant.
