The timer in GD is very forgiving.
You can wipe multiple times on trash and still time it.
The big issue is the last boss and the lightning breath. It either needs to be telegraphed or nerfed more - possibly both.
If you have to have people ‘exploit’ the arena to avoid having to move there is a problem.
