Please Remove Aura Mastery

wtf you on about? Enh Shaman has a raid buff, Paladins don’t. We’ve gone from a class with multiple buffs to a class that doesn’t buff at all.

Devotion aura IS the raid buff.

Wtf are YOU on?

Ret aura was a SECOND raid buff.

No classes has 2 raid buffs anymore.

Enhancement does have a raid buff, but that buff is no longer exclusive to them. Resto and elemental shamans can now bring it, too. Enhancement is no longer guaranteed a raid spot because of a unique buff.

This is balancing. Paladins had two buffs and were reduced to one. Shamans had a buff exclusive to one spec opened up to the other two specs. Shamans and paladins now both bring a single raid buff that can be brought by any spec of the class.

I was very surprised to see how unflavorful auras are; they’re supposed to be part of paladin’s class identity, but currently they’re just kind of lame.

Honestly I’d prefer to see paladins lose a couple of their cooldown abilities, then bake these effects into auras, with a weaker passive form then a stronger active form.

There’s already too many abilities on GCD, this could help that.

Out of morbid curiosity, what would you suggest we lose that get’s put into a Aura?

Some of the ability bloat could be worked into auras I think, Dawn of Light could just be a passive healing aura with an activated AoE heal instead of a standalone skill, Blinding Light could be an aura that passively reduces chance to be crit or something, then activated for the disorient effect, etc. Blessing of Summer could just be an aura that cycles every 30 seconds or whatever, obviously not sharing its full effect to people but maybe a reduced effect, etc. Blessing of Sacrifice could passively absorb damage for nearby allies, then you could activate it for the full effect etc. Same with Blessing of Freedom. Divine Steed could’ve just been a movement speed aura with an activated big speed boost, etc. The old Holy damage increase Retribution used to have way back when was pretty cool and unique, etc. Shamans get a cleansing totem, so why not make cleansing aura a thing, etc. Could passively cleanse every 30 seconds or something, but you can activate it for a direct cleanse or whatever.

The current auras now just seem so boring and unflavorful, there’s little thought in their usage, which one would help most in the current situation, etc.

They are meant to be our class buff, specifically Devo.

All class buff are boring +% stats.

Making new auras is the equivalent of making new buff for paladin, so in this context we won’t see any iteration on that front.

They seemed to have set this buff at 1 per class at most.

Unfortunately you’re right, but one can dream about a WoW where fun/class fantasy takes priority over balance, considering how not of a competitive game/E-sport it is.

Frankly I couldn’t care less if something is overpowered, as long as it’s fun. Just balance PvP and PvE separately - tons of games do that.
