Honestly, how hard can it be to program the soul bind system to remember my choice when i swap covenants?

You would be in a rest area when you change your covenant anyway, so it’s not hard to open up your soul binds and click what it was.
Conduits remain in place too.
Not defending blizzard, but there’s a workaround that doesn’t take long.

Have you ever done any sort of programming and coding? And have you ever worked with WoW’s coding specifically?
Uh, yes you can. You just have to be in a rest area, so Oribos (or any capital city I guess) or an inn.
I actually do this all the time to swap to M+ soul binds near the Mythic entrance - just go to the nearest innkeeper.
Try it. Click on a soulbind in your current covenant, and click activate. You have to make sure you stand close enough to the innkeeper otherwise you won’t be able to activate the soulbind.

Yes you can. From the Icy Veins guide:
You must be in a rest area to switch Soulbinds. Alternatively, you can use tomes. Click on the Covenant portrait on the minimap to bring up your Soulbinds and switch between them.

I’m 100% sure I tried this earlier in the xpac.
If not always, then probably since 9.1.5.
It probably is harder than the interns they have now on the main game can safely do… the seasoned ones are probably getting their balls or balloons busted on the next expansion.
Anybody that says “how hard can it be” or “it would be so easy to” has absolutely zero programming experience.

You can’t change your conduits outside of the forge, but you can change soulbinds.
How are you a member of the community council exactly?
You need the Forge to change Conduits not Soulbinds.

At least since 9.1, I want to say earlier but can’t recall a for sure instance when I did before 9.1. You can definitely change in any rested area and can change the soulbind paths, just not conduits themselves.
Edit: looks like since forever, because it’s not in any patch notes.

You couldn’t change Conduits outside of your Forge of Bonds, but you could always change Soulbinds in a Rested area/with a Tome.
