I’m fine if you keep the 30% nerf to mana regen. I’m fine if you keep the 40% nerf to off-healing on Hand of the Protector. However, please rethink the 40% nerf to the self-healing version Light of the Protector.
The only place that protection off-healing was overtuned was in the Arena. There is no reason to nerf the off-healing in Battlegrounds. It should not be nerfed in Warmode either as nobody is complaing about prot paladin healing in that environment.
This whole expansion is themed and geared around world PvP (Warmode). To take away 40% of a tank’s most important self healing while doing world quests and invasions is going to kill the spec.
Honestly, prior to 8.1 only 1% of paladins were protection. After 8.1 the number went up to only 5%. The game already possesses a drastic defecit of tank players in the game. Most of the queue times are due to waiting for a tank.
I don’t think getting even more people to quit their tank spec paladin is a good thing (especially when the only people to complain were low-rated players in 2v2 and a little bit in 3v3).
And to the people that complained about prot in arena: just stun the paladin and he takes even more damage than a dps spec. You can burn a prot paladin down in 1 stun easily with 2 players.
