Please PLEASE Stop Changing Our Talents

OMGosh, Blizz, can you please please PLEASE stop changing our talents every single new patch?? I just got used to the talents from the last change-around and now they’re all changed AGAIN. :confounded: Its so frustrating to go through this every single time. Is there even a reason to keep changing them so often?

For reference, I play a variety of different classes, so its always at least one - and usually more - of my toons that is getting their talents re-arranged. This time (so far) its my priest. I haven’t logged in to my other toons yet.

Because there are problems with specs that players want resolving? Talent trees are far from perfect.

Yeah when something is crap they should just leave it crap so nobody has to relearn anything. That’s what is best for the game.

/s just in case.

You must be new here.

innovation is a driver of progress, and progress is often a result of innovation. So u see these talents changes are needed and besides nothing lasts forever.

I understand. But they should have taken their time with them in DF beta. The amount of reworks upon reworks is getting tiring, no matter how “needed” they are. This work should be done in alpha and beta.

Now that there is no going back in time, one would hope they would take their time with classes and talents in Midnight alpha and beta but for some reason I doubt it and the same way of doijg things will continue.

You should’ve tried playing a DK in WotLK. It was great fun for the first few patches, but I hung it up in, like, Ulduar because I was sick of having to completely re-learn the class every patch.

I agree, though, numbers tweaks are one thing. Complete reworks of classes, specs, or talents should be saved for expansion patches.

Obviously broken things should be fixed.

But things shouldn’t be broken to the point of needing dramatic change every patch.

I don’t mind it so much. Especially when it’s a benefit. It allowed me to get mass barrier for my arcane mage, which is something that was not available until this patch.

No.

Balance, the feel of them, design intent, bugs, new mechanics, and a few thousand more reasons that likely can be summarized into one of the aforementioned categories.

Thats fair if one single spec keeps getting a major rework every single patch. But the OP is saying that they play a bunch of different specs and are mad of any single one of them gets a rework at any given patch.

I do think its a bit much with a few specs sometimes, like spriest. But on the other hand, the spriest changes, at least some of them, seemed pretty good to me.

I’d rather my spec get frequent updates than be in dire need of an update and never get one. (Sorry Rogues and Warriors)

It feels like I play a different character every time they do this, it is so annoying!

Spriest hadn’t been touched since 10.0.5. Shadow has a reputation for getting a lot of changes but they left it alone for a while and didn’t iterate or take any feedback during TWW development.

And funnily enough the changes in 11.2 don’t really do or fix anything. It plays the same, has the same issues, and really just feels like they’re rearranging deckchairs on the titanic.

People who don’t like to relearn their talents every patch.

vs

People who want perceived problems with their specs fixed.

If you can’t read the changelog and get used to new talents within the first day of playing it, you probably weren’t that well versed in the spec to begin with. Just my 2 copper.
