I hate timers. Since I was a child playing Super Mario, Ive hated timers in games. I prefer slow, planned out, methodical game play. While I understand the current problem in torghast is some classes literally waiting for heroism/blood lust to be off cooldown every pull, and that certainly is a problem. Please do not add a timer!
Can you suggest an alternative solution? From what I understand what they’re suggesting is not an actual timer, but just an ever increasing spawn rate of enemies until you are forced to move on to the next floor. That seems like a good way to do it. It’s much more organic than a ticking clock, and sounds like it fits the tone of the place very well. Plus let’s be honest, it’s just another thing people are going to turn into a challenge.
Proving grounds has timer too, but I don’t see anyone complaining about that.
It has been confirmed there is no timer for Torghast. You’ll only be kicked out if you die too many times or if the Tarragrue catches you.
Well it’s your lucky day.
There is no timer.
There hasn’t been a timer.
There isn’t going to be a timer.
Limit the use of rly strong cooldowns to 1/2 per floor or increase their cooldown by 50% etc
Solutions definitely exist to get around ppl waiting for lust each pull
They do plan on some form of “soft timer” to avoid ppl waiting forever for lust before each pull etc
We dont know what it would be yet, they are thinking just sending more mobs to you as time passes by but we dont know how it works to be sure
Proving grounds dont really reward…anything. Or have any impact on progression…at all.
Doesn’t impact progression? Well then you and I play two different games.
All proving ground ever did was make me not run dungeons for a expansion. Just skipped right over them and went straight to raiding. Yea they worked great.
I find that ofen to be the case with myself and many other players. What is the point in doing proving grounds since the days of having to complete silver in order to queue for heroics?
He’s probably referring to the soft timer. There’s no hard timer, but there will be progressive waves of mobs that are effectively a soft timer. Intent is to stop players from chilling out on a floor for hours, and waiting for cooldowns between mob pulls.
If thats the case then thats not so bad, I guess. Maybe just allow long cooldowns like blood lust to be used once per life, per floor. Much better solution.
Don’t you remember in WoD when you needed to complete silver proving grounds to que into Heroic/LFR?
People whined until they removed the requirement going into legion
My predicament is worst than that, BFA is my first expansion.
That feels less organic to me. And kind of flies in the face of the randomness it’s supposed to bring. In limiting cooldown use they’d have to manually control the number of more difficult encounters. Plus a big part of the tower is collecting crazy modifiers to our abilities. I would bet that cooldown reduction is one such modifier.
I am so sorry brother.
We are not letting you fly for the first year of the expansion because we want you to slow down and enjoy the content we made. OH and we are adding timers to everything else so you have to run it as fast as you can.
I never understood the complaint. It eas easily done in quest gear 2 seconds after you hit 100.
True there are for class specific ones, hell they could disable hero for tower because i can understand waiting 2 mins for a big cd before a pull, 10 is just being extreme
