Watch out, we got a badass here. /NdGT
GW2 didnt have rp tags. I literally and accidentally walked into a rp without even looking for it in a bar in the Gendarrien Fields. If youre relying on tags and there to be people, I’m sorry but youre goimg about it the wrong way.
Even in FFXIV i found a lot of rp without looking for it in Mateus. In the major cities.
I see plenty of people RPing without their RP tags on in XIV every day in the cities. And sometimes in other nice looking places. Heck, one time I went to Yedlihmmad and saw a pair RPing there.
That’s nice. But those aren’t examples of what I’m talking about. So thanks for not having anything of value to add and proving you don’t know what you’re talking about.
RP servers are perfectly fine the way they are and don’t need removed for one person’s selfish “I HAVE LAG” whining.
Walkup rp gives me the worst anxiety. And i get skittish so I’ll spend my time walking around and then getting antsy about whether things will be good or what not. Like it’s stressful.
Or i’ll get people wanting to attack me when they didnt ask me for consent and then pitch a fit when i say no.
… nobody is saying to remove RP servers.
I’m not the best at it either, I mean, I like to have some idea of what is expected out of all parties involved before I enter into it, and yeah, that consent thing?
I can’t count the number of times that 2 people make a plot, set it in stone (wtf is the point of a set-in-stone RP plot, why not just write a fricken story by yoruself at that point) and then get mad because I was “breaking their plot”…
It’s not selfish. Honestly when i had my normal harddrive i would lag for like a minute all the time. Everyone would stop and ask if i was okay because it was noticebly bad.
Now the only issue i have is my screen freezing randomly. Or just minimizing on its own and then popping back.
But thats not an excuse for you to step out of SW and experience rp. Or anyone. Maybe its time to get out of that comfort zone.
Yeah, they’re acting like SWC is the ONLY place in the game to RP.
None of the other cities are good enough, or the plenty of locales or what-not.
Well, ok, there’s Goldshire, but the less said about that disease-ridden place the better.
I honestly don’t think they have reading comprehension. Maybe it’s best to ignore them.
I think during the shl prepatch the most fun i had was when we all went to Dalaran. That was the most fun i had to rp. Or when an old guild i had did a story event in Boralus. That was the most fun i had.
It is. The lag isn’t that bad and RP servers don’t need to be changed nor removed.
This is you gaslighting and strawmaning that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
So let’s see:
- You have no idea what you’re talking about when RP tags are removed from RP servers
- You just want to make strawman arguments and not address the actual topic
That being said… enjoy your day. Goodbye and good riddance.
As to the REAL topic of this thread…
Remove the sharding on RP servers!
Since you’re someone that doesn’t partake in walkup RP and Arysza outed themselves as the same perhaps don’t chime in on the topic then next time? There’s a reason the other RP servers basically don’t have any walk up RP and almost no RP outside of Moon Guard, Wyrmrest Accord, and Argent Dawn for EU.
Stormwind is an RP hub because well, it’s a hub for everything else - it WAS unsharded… just an FYI ‘going outside of SW’ means if you’re in Chromie time, Or Warmode, or if you go into a NEW area those are all sharded and therefore things become an issue. There’s events outside of the cities, so telling people also to ‘just go outside of SW lol’ well that same logic could be applied to those that want SW to be sharded because ‘it might get laggy uwu’ which matters not for anyone else.
They dont need to temove the sharding. Everyone needs to get out of their comfort zone.
Nice projecting but you’ve been doing the abusing and gaslighting this whole time. You’re not even on MG or WRA, why do you care?
There’s more RP than walk-up RP, you know.
This thread makes it sound like SWC Sharding is killing all RP and that it’s doom and gloom and death to all RP and the communities of MG and WrA which is just utter hyperbole.
You could do walk-up RP elsewhere. It doesn’t have to be in SWC. You could coordinate communities over discord and meet up other places and hold events. You choose not to.
I used to partake in walkup rp and realized that world rp is so much better and superior. I dont have to rp with anyone if i dont want to. I dont have to get nervous if they dont like my character or me or any sort of drama that stems from rp.
Walkup rp is no longer fun and enjoyable. And literally. Lags not something to take light in. If you want to see how bad it is i can send you my old harddrive.
They don’t seem to comprehend that sharding is everywhere, which screws over the large events, small events and everything else. Everywhere.
Removing the RP tag for an RP shard would destroy everything, as well. We’ve seen it happen in other games.
If people don’t want to be on MG or WrA, then they shouldn’t be there. RP servers were meant to not be sharded in old zones. That’s how it should stay. Period.
How do you propose it be handled when an event is set up, everyone goes to the same place as agreed, and then sharding kicks in and phases the attendees apart?
A raid group can handle a maximum of 40 people. For some events, that would be fine. For other events, that would be inadequate.
This. Why stay in SW? Why not coordibate rp in Dalaran or Valdrakken or Boralus or Ironforge or Hyjal or literally everywhere?
Theres more than one person that anchors at events. Depending on Horde or Alliance or Neutral theres typically two to three anchors.
They don’t care. They don’t understand how this all works within the community or that everything is sharded and you can’t have that many people in a shard. It’s why we asked for sharding to be removed in the first place. It wasn’t because of their bullcrap answer of “MUH SW RP” it was because the larger events in OTHER PLACES were getting screwed over. And there are a lot of them.
