just set your hearth to another city then. not our problem your pc is trash.
What part about this do you not understand?
Heck, this has always been my complaint with CRZ, is the lack of personal choice. Maybe I want to be on an empty shard, or a low pop shard. This should be possible, but Blizz won’t give us the choice and thinks we all want to be clustered up.
Heck, if they would implement that world-wide, let us choose which shard we want to be on, then the SWC thing wouldn’t even be a problem, like, at all. For anybody.
Adding YET ANOTHER shard people have to pay attention to where people may forget to turn off/on as well as it splitting people even more yet again isn’t a great idea. There’s already plenty of times someone is in WM and can’t figure out why they can’t see anyone at events outside of SW/Org, same thing with chromie time since that also spits you into another shard. It also gives yet another shard for troublemakers to hide out in and try to avoid reports because there might be less people in there and Blizz’s moderation is ENTIRELY based off getting plenty of reports. There’s tons of other major cities that are not as ‘busy’ as SW if people prefer an unlagged experience but in reality you should be mad at Blizzard for not being able to handle 200-500 people in one area without the servers lagging.
As an RPer I will 100% be happier with a ‘laggy city’ where I can RP because the only thing I’m doing is either RP or posting auctions.
“Some people are stupid therefore, nobody should be able to make that choice for themselves because some people can’t figure out how to work it properly”
/eyeroll
If there’s one thing I am absolutely sick of in life in general, is watering down everything that might negatively impact someone because some idiot out there will misuse it.
You could simply make such choice wear off when you log off or change continents or something, I don’t know. But again, CRZ in general needs more player choice. I don’t want the game telling me what shard it thinks I should be on based upon some arbitrary metric set by Blizz. No, I want to choose what shard I am on, by my own choice.
And if some idiot out there doesn’t understand how the system works and messes with the settings, that’s on them. They can log out and back in to fix it.
most people are dumb, so would come to the forum and complain
a good example is the most obvious well known steam scams, and yet every day someone posts steam hacked them xD they literally think steam is hacking their individual useless account with almost nothing on it. thats how dumb people are
so if someone was able to choose a shard and it was empty or it broke for some reason or they were too confused, straight to the forums to complain about something about it
/shrug
Your point is?
At some point, dumb people are going to have to learn. Sorry, that’s just how it is.
Negatively punishing the rest of us by removing choices isn’t the answer, and it never was, and it never will be.
They can whine all they want, someone will explain it to them.
Assuming people are dumb simply because they don’t know how newer features explicitly work and that they might phase you or others, or the fact that some people are FORGETFUL especially because there’s now a cap of 60 characters and they can all be in different phases/shards is incredibly rude. Please don’t do that.
That’s fine, a selection of shards and such would improve gameplay in newer areas and people can hop to a busy shard if they want. That would be nice.
So you agree, then, that world-wide (INCLUDING SWC!) choice of shards to CRZ to, would be a nice idea?
Great, then we agree, discussion over. I’ll shard myself over to the non-RP empty shard of SWC every time I’m there. Everybody’s happy.
That’s basically what I was suggesting in the first place.
EDIT: Just shunt everybody into the lagfest RP shard by default, and if the player asks for it… send them to another shard instead.
No, that’s why I said newer areas. Like what Blizzard already does even on RP servers, which is the new expansion areas are always sharded which I’ve been fine with. I do wish they would un-shard BFA zones and SL zones because they’re no longer ‘new’ zones which is what Blizzard said they would do, but Blizzard isn’t very good at holding their word at the moment.
Why not allow it for all zones, though?
Is there something wrong with me going to, say, some random zone anywhere in the world and telling the game that I want the lowest pop shard possible?
I mean, personally would like to choose a shard to play on empty or full. I think most people would play the fullest shard, except the extreme soloers who dont want to see anyone (and I’m a pretty big soloer but for me whole point of MMOs is to SEE OTHERS lol)
Just they’d need to simplify it like a book for dummies kinda thing but even simpler, if it was too confusing people wouldnt understand. I guess they could show full, medium or low population for that shard so people know how crowded it is (or is not). They’d never show actual numbers, but at least a guide line.
Sounds a bit indepth to me though, dunno how hard programming it is for them to allow people to choose a shard. I know other MMOs you can choose “shards” pretty much or whatever fancy name they call it, like GW2 you can play on empty “shards” or (optionally) switch to a full one if it pops up saying the “shard” is empty. So I suppose wouldnt be that hard to do.
Sure, it basically allows for people to farm anything they want without any competition which also drives up the ability for people to bot undetected without reports or grief others without much in the ways of reports. That’s one big downside I can think of on top of the other ones I already mentioned.
The underlying tech is there, it’s just players don’t have access to it.
CRZ is already a thing, but the computer is solely in control.
And yeah you could just add some sort of toggle that has some sort of dropdown box, that resets to default every time you log off. You’d only really need two settings: Default and Low Population to satisfy, probably 99% of people.
You talk like people don’t already bot the everliving crap out of everything, and get reported and continue doing it lol
I highly doubt that’d make much of a difference in botting whatsoever.
Tho it WOULD be nice to actually have a smidgeon of a chance of getting a time lost proto drake that I STILL don’t have…
well, to be fair, I was gonna agree…but then it popped up in my head you can already game the system and play on empty shards because of a combination of warmode, group finder and think another system is in play but forgot what it was or maybe its just those two.
While I wouldn’t mind shard picking, tbh I’d rather there be no CRZ and shards and have WoW play like it did at release. And then if a server is dead, just combine more servers.
Failing that, I’d rather pick a shard with a bunch of people than play a singleplayer game while leveling lol
Normally, while leveling, yeah I want to see a modest amount of players.
But when lag starts happening, like in Azure Span, I’d loooove to just snap my fingers and the majority of people who don’t care about that stupid pot of soup can actually quest without the 600ms+ lag.
true, there is that too xD and… that soup event…makes me want to leave the zone almost, gets extremely tempting because it just becomes impossible to do anything needs to be fixed somehow
IMO it should be some sort of 40 man raid you can Q for during a window of time, and the whole raid is just the village with the soup thing going on, or some-such. The soup NPC gets a quest icon over his head while it’s available, you talk to him and Q up for it and bam away you go and it’s only there during the event.
/shrug
But yeah, I tried the soup thing once, and eh, no thanks. I’ll wait until like the .2 patch when nobody cares about it anymore and there’s only 10 people there or sommat.
I will say, though, that allowing alliance and horde to quest on the same mobs has done wonders for my tolerance of seeing other players around, and most quests are far more kind about allowing multiple players to get credit on the same objectives simultaneously.
Some Shadowlands areas were lousy and other players became more of a nuisance than something you wanted to see.
i cant believe this hasn’t been fixed tbh. it makes rp servers feel so dead
I don’t even think their PC is trash, I think they’re just being weirdly contrarian about sharding. Up until this summer I played on MG for years via a really old laptop, and I never experienced the lag they’re describing in Stormwind. Not through Legion or BfA, certainly not through Shadowlands when the server was much more sparse.
I lived in two places with really poor Internet connection, but that just resulted in DCs at times and it happened all over the game world, not just Stormwind.
Could be they’re just bored and want to mess with people, why commit so heavily to being on MG over the years when you don’t even like the very thing that sets it apart?
1 day i think blizzy might realize that separating players is detrimental to their game’s and revenue’s future
do u guys remember back in the wrath days hanging out by the bank steps making groups or doing whatever with players from YOUR REALM that you would actually probably see again later after the raid ends?
realms are supposed to be the only shards
