You didn’t really need pots if you just positioned correctly on Kelris. They were a crutch, nothing more.
You likely could have just told the raid you had them, gone into the raid, and done the boss without using them. They were never going to notice, lol. Nor would they have cared so long as boss still died.
What so many people don’t seem to know is that using Shadow Pots or Free Action Pots on Kelris wasn’t something all 10 people had to do every lockout. Just a good portion of them. If 5-6 folks popped a Free Action Pot, then the healers would have been fine healing the 4-5 that didn’t.
They were just a requirement to get into every pug I tried to get into, and I didn’t care enough to find a guild/commit to a schedule.
Not trying to sweat playing the game. Just playing for casual fun and if that means I don’t raid, I’m cool with that. It just shortens the time I’m gonna play each phase.
I’m kinda over trying on guilds / discord servers to find a good fit. I’m too old for that crap lmao. I’m in my ornary old man phase of life. I’ve gone full boomer.
Lol, I hear you. I was in a great guild as far as good people, friendly, fun to talk to and all that. You know what broke us? Lorgus Jett, lmao. It’s the saddest, yet funniest thing that happened to me in SOD so far. We wiped on him for like a total of 4-5 hours. Started doing pugs and never looked back, sadly. Not the games fault on that, we need some juicy bosses, if only for the luls.
Every time I’ve wiped on Kelris it was because somebody was missing interrupts. If you hit the interrupts you should be able to down him. Maybe very early on if nobody spent the time to get pre-raid BIS and were wearing really bad greens it would have been difficult even with interrupts. But I got a 285 GS wearing nothing but pre-raid gear and the void-touched gloves, so it’s not that hard to get decent gear relatively quickly for the raid. It’ll be the same for gnomer. Focus on getting the absolute BIS pre gnomer gear and the gnomer runs will go a lot smoother.
That’s CRAZY. My very first lockout at the start of Phase 1 was a pug because my guild weren’t all 25 yet. Lorgus Jett wiped that pug group once because we didn’t understand the Lighting Shield Totem, and then we got him down on the second try.
I can’t imagine spending 4-5 hours wiping on him. Like, HOW even? Did none of you realize how the totems worked? Were dps just too stubborn to switch off of him during Lightning Shield Totems?
That’s an even crazier story then OP’s trolling over Kelris ‘breaking their guilds’.
Eh, we wiped when we had poo gear and were still trying the “offtank the elementals” for Akumai. (As opposed to just having a DPS warr retal them for the raid to burn down in cleaving the boss.)
assuming this guy isnt trolling, I feel for him lol
I was in a bad guild on another alt and OMG some people’s kids. He could be the best player in WoW but you cant fix stupid. Why he stayed in those guilds is beyond me but if true, lol I truly feel bad
Man, it was a comedy of errors. First, we tried to just tank and spank him, getting owned by the fire and lightning. Second, we tried to kill all totems, that just didn’t work. Third, tried to kill fire and lightning, also did not work. Fourth, we tried to do it the correct way, but some just could not figure out not to hit Lorgus when lightning was down.
I still can’t wrap my head around it. A good group of dudes that were willing to try, try, try without getting angry. Just really sucked, sadly lol. They have heart, just not much else. They’re going into P2 strong though, well, strong as you can with 6 people. They think they’ll down gnomer.
