I’ve never felt so disrespected by an in-game system in my life, and I played all throughout BFA without quitting.
A reputation that 99% of players would absolutely ignore if it wasn’t locking sockets/conduit upgrades (Not to mention doubling down on the item for upgrading conduits once again being RNG on which conduit it upgrades, seriously disgusting).
The dailies in the area don’t even give reputation to archivist (not counting the rng items you MAY get as rewards to turn into the guy). I guarantee in 9.1.5 this will change and will be hailed as a great change.
Killing the same “rares” every. single. day. What’s the point of calling them rares? Adding 10+ rares to a zone on a daily lockout is not content anymore. It just isn’t.
Not to mention the rares don’t even give that much rep. A bulk of your reputation comes from looting nests, vessels, chests, and tons of other very hidden or irritating to grab items, that many people just use a WA to track and find.
It just shows you that the devs absolutely do not play this game. How can any dev that worked on this system or close to it say “Yeah, honestly, the players are gonna really enjoy this. Can’t wait to push it out and play it on my main!”

I agree. Creating a crafting upgrade item and locking it behind a ‘reputation’ you have to grind day in and out on boring content.
They had something quite similar in TBC, where you had to grind Scryers or Aldor to get certain items. Is that how far this game has come, to revisit something that was tedious then and is tedious now?

Yeah, it’s pretty disrespecting on one’s time tbh. Some day’s I’ll only get like sub 200 rep after combing the entire zone due to RNG drops. The only way to be at Rank 6 right now is if you’ve been living there right from the start.

They rely on a very human need to complete or have something. Like the horse mount in Korthia. Is it spectacular? No, its just a recolour of other very similar mounts. Yet people return day after day, asking in chat, searching for it, returning to get those set number of pats so they can get a mount that will mean zero to them about 5 minutes after they get it.

I never said anything about doing it in a day. Lot of players like being able to knock out x amount of dailies for a particular rep in a day then literally not have to worry about it until tomorrow. This rep disgustingly entices you to stay around all day.

I got that mount the other day. Soooo happy my paladin looks great in it, it dosent fly though
No it doesn’t. Just kill rares and loot chests as you’re doing your dailies. You are choosing to view it as a grind.

This is such a worthless response. Im sorry you dont care about the hobby as much as some, but to try to tell people what they should enjoy or care about is so utterly worthless its embarrassing.
Games should be designed with respect for the player in mind. If they want you to participate in a form of content, they should not gate things that are significant desires to player power in that content behind other unrelated, boring, repetitive, and unfun content.

Unfortunately Blizzard is aware of how awful their content is so they keep ramming power behind it to more or less force players to do it.
They didn’t have to do it for mage tower, bring whoever made that up back and fire the people responsible for Torghast, islands, warfronts, the maw, korthia.

i agree.
but those of us NOT in a CE guild, don’t have that problem. we can tell the people having the chat with us “if i cared about that rep i wouldn’t be in a guild as bad as this”.
