Please nerf the useless and exploitative "Eagle Eye" ability

It’s a meme “class fantasy” ability that serves no gameplay purpose whatsoever aside from allowing farmers to park level 14 als in high level zones and monopolize rare nodes.

Sorry, if you’ve created a situation that allows extremely low level characters to profit in the highest level zones than you’ve violated the basic tenets of gameplay and the idea of progression.

Pretty cut and dry to me.

We recently had a pally tell us that he needed the rag neck and that if he got it he would be ok with not getting any loot for 6 months, so our LC thought that was a fair compromise and gave it to him, 2 days later we found out he DELETED his pally and started leveling a shaman just to spite us and expose the flaws in our lootcouncil. Blizzard needs to do a better job of screening the people who play these games. I think you should need to pass a background check, drug test and mental health screening in order to be allowed to log on to world of warcraft.

The player base would plummet.

But those that were left would be the ones we would want, its the kind of place where u could walk up and trade any stranger in Ironforge 1000g and know they are gonna give it right back to you

please tell me that’s a true story.

the only thing that would make it better would be if he already had animated chain and was STILL begging for rag neck.

Agreed, same for voting in elections.

Correct me if I’m wrong, don’t you have to be level 20 or 25 to learn passed skill 150? What kind of “high nodes” are we talking about?

Wait what? How can it be useless and exploitative at the same time?

There’s nothing wrong with eagle eye as it was in vanilla. It is the bugged classic version that needs to be fixed. Yes you can log in a low level character and eagle eye forever… (as well as some other things I wont mention)

Useless in all forms of normal, rule-sanctioned gameplay. Exploits are not a valid “use” for an ability.

I would say that because it is in game… its use would be defined as “sanctioned”.

It does make finding lotus ridiculously easy

Only need to be level 14 to Learn Eagle Eye, So for instance someone might have a level 14 hunter in silithus spamming eagle eye from Cenarion Hold to look at each of the spawn points of Black Lotus, rather than having to investigate by hand.

I get it, but you need the proper profession Skill, which I am positive exceeds Skill 150. Which, you have to be level 20 or 25 for.

They investigate with the Hunter, then take their main over to farm it (or in some extreme cases have 300 herbalism alts parked on each node spawn and swap over to them)

I have no idea how you think it’s an exploit. A level 14 would still have to get there through high level mobs to get to it right? If that’s the case is a rogue that is in stealth getting to resources without having to fight them also an exploit? Far as I can tell that seems the correct way to use Eagle Eye.

Yes, that is the way it is SUPPOSE to work. (It is way better than that however, especially for the hunter class)

I wouldn’t be surprised if you could eagle eye the entire continent.

Which still takes time to log off the character and switch over to the other. Especially, if that character isn’t even near a spawn point. What’s the problem?

(you can see nodes that others cannot see using eagle eye, you have unlimited view distance and x-ray vision)

EDIT- If I am on here tomorrow I will explain the bug and how to use it. maybe they will fix it, but I doubt it.

OK? I’d expect out of all classes to have a skill like that it would be hunters.

Hunters have been good at keeping their lips shut about it.
Essentially you can eagle eye to unlimited range, using your node radars, your beast radars, your elemental radars, your hidden radars, your treasure radars… all over the zone and canvass the whole thing in about 30 seconds per radar.

Eagle eye is not suppose to use your radar as if you were standing where you are looking… that is totally fubar.

makes farming trivial, and it should have been patched the first week… but nope.
