This is literally the worst fight in all Mythic+ dungeons. Everyone has some mechanic or boss that they hate but this takes the cake.
1/4th of your health bar ticking every second ON TOP of some terribly designed affix making it so I have to stop healing for half a second, meaning somebody will die. Nerf the damage or make it tick less often. I shouldn’t need to coordinate defensives in a +14 pug.

You will not stop Hyrja’s ascension mortal!

Make sure you’re not overlapping healing and person CDs
tell your players to use defensives at the appropriate times
tell people to start carrying health potions
I agree the damage is high, but it’s not nearly as bad as you’re making it out to be.

At a 14 it’s not even that bad yet

I’ve healed every boss successfully on at least a +22. Its literally that bad. Id rather heal a +23 RLP than Hyrja.

I feel like Quaking during Eye of the Storm is the main issue here. It’s just not a very convenient time for a quake to go off.

She aint that hard imo. I’d argue the second boss in RLP is much worse

“im in the top 0.00001% of players who do m+ content! nerf this boss!”
ok well ur already not really making logical sense
almost no one playing this game is doing content that high, yes its going to be hard

Thing is with second boss RLP the infernos that come out and timing of boss give everyone plenty of time to get personals back up.
Assuming at high enough key everyone knows the basics of dropping inferno in front of the boss and molten behind its not too bad.
With Hyrja ideally she goes down fast with cool-downs but if they aren’t in the high keys then it’s basically GG if it gets to a fourth storm (assuming first is personals, second is healer major CD, third is a second set of CD combinations).
I heal mostly as Resto Shaman so HoJ in general is one of the R-Sham friendly dungeons as most pulls are in small circle areas, so Hyrja is Ascedance first, personals second and Healing Tide with spirit link third. I haven’t done super high keys though so I imagine past 20 all those will chunk even more.
not convenient but a health potion sure is.

Vexamus in Algethar Academy is by far the worst boss not Hyrja. He literally does unavoidable damage. If you’re in a 20+ keystone and get a bomb on you and that boss does his aoe burst damage it wipes everyone but the tank lol. Hyrja is rough but Vexamus is just unavoidablely broken

Vexamus is the 2nd worst boss, the mana bombs in that need a nerf too. Unavoidable damage in general needs to chill.

Dude, it’s pretty bad lol. It’s just not that bad in comparison to every other asinine horrible thing we have this expac. AA bird, Ruby last boss DoT, Azure 3rd boss pre-nerf, Fenryr soak, Hymdall Horn, Odyn rune, Vexamus everything, the list just goes on and on.

Yeah, the overall crazy high amounts of unavoidable damage spread throughout this seasons dungeons is pretty gnarly. You shouldn’t be unavoidably one shot by a DoT that burns 40% of your HP per second.
I feel like the balance teams don’t play the game. They just look at numbers and formulas and go “yeah, that should be fine.”
1/4th hp bar?
is everyone at least playing with characters that have enough HP on a tyrannical boss?
isn’t there a DR AoE that could be used, or is the group entirely made up of Randoms with no thought put into how to counter the mechanics?
but that aside, Quaking really should just be turned off during boss fights in general. trying to one by one fix specific moments where its unreasonable is behind the curve in terms of affix dungeon tuning.
The fight is fine. People have done it on a +26 on Tyrannical week. How will you ever improve as a player if they nerf everything? Instead of calling for nerfs, improve your player skill level and gain knowledge of your class and when to use defensives/health potions.
There is no reason to call for nerfs on a fight that is totally doable with no issues.

every tank should learn this trick

Yeah the damage was rough. My holy priest buddy was struggling on it but hes also the clicker who won’t use addon’s or DPS spells as a healer xD. Dead set in his ways… I can’t talk his holyer then though worgen muzz to change dispite telling him healbot would be so much easier.
The AoE burst is based on his energy, which increases when he soaks an orb (Plus does some, but manageable, AoE damage)
On high keys the strat is to let him soak one orb between the end of the 1st and the start of the 3rd AoE (Then repeat that pattern) to desync it from the bomb explosions. The bombs still get very scary at 23+ but without the overlap it’s at least manageable.
