If we’re gonna go back to Classic, it’d be best to pay respects to the Vanilla roleplaying servers. Without Argent Dawn, Cenarion Circle, Feathermoon, Silver Hand, etc. You wouldn’t have Moon Guard or Wyrmrest Accord.

I’d expect 3 RP servers for US on launch. Hopefully RP-PVP servers as well.

Where are you getting that number from?
I expect 1 West, 1 East, and 1 Central. The only other TZ in mountain which does does fine on west or central.
Why though? Why only one of each? That would require massive population caps.

No idea what they’d be, but I’m not sure if they’ll use pre-existing server names at all. They might come up with entirely new ones to better differentiate them from other servers. Rather than say… Argent Dawn and Argent Dawn (Classic).
I’m just glad RP PvE servers will exist. Still hoping they change their mind and relent on RP-PvP (though from their wording they seem to be willing to change their mind if there’s enough demand).
I guess I really dont know how big of a lanch blizzard is planning on doing. They havn’t pushed out any advertisments for Classic yet so they are smart enough to get the launch out before they attempt to go on a marketing train to get more people to come back who don’t follow gaming.
Do people still pay attention to server timezones? Are they even displayed on the server select screen?
I guess they will in classic though.
Even for the pserver community and the retailers who will play it they will need far more realms than 1 per region per realm type.
I would say that PVP and PVE would have much more than 1 per region. When it comes to RP realms they won’t them to be populated and RP-PVE is if I am not mistaken the least desired realm and it has a very unique community.
Well it will be two different clients I expect. So you won’t have a list of retail and classic realms in the same realm list. I could be wrong but it would be dumb to have the realms on the same list as retail.
