Please make Tusks of mannoroth be a 1% drop

My Yogg. How long did you do that? That had to take up most of your play time for the week just farming that on all those alts. Man, that’s dedication. How many attempts do you think you’ve logged?

Thinking that’s lazy, there’s probably players that spent more time doing it that others, its rng there’s not effort and actually this take can be invalidated by a boost to a plate character on a server with tusks on the BMAH and buying some tokens to pay the gold required, so practically that “effort” could be changed to a swipe of a credit card.

Ps: its not lazy ask for better conditions around this RNG grinds, a skip, a bad luck mechanic besides BMAH

That’s why the BMAH is a thing. If you missed out on something or aren’t willing to go get it yourself, then whip out your credit card or go farm a ton of gold. How is it different from real life? You pay for convenience.

But that’s a whole other issue in itself.

There’s like ~5 extremely rare items in this game. They aren’t necessary and don’t contribute anything other than transmog, of which there are thousands others. The game benefits from having things that are more rare than others.

There is no argument to be had here, just people throwing a fit because they don’t have something but ALSO don’t want to put in the effort. Sorry everything can’t just be handed to you. I want the gladiator stuff and always did since early wotlk, but I never got it. And that’s okay because I’m just not good enough I guess.

Not everybody has to have everything, and that notion alone is a huge issue with the playerbase. This is an MMO, if we all had everything then nobody would be different than anyone else, then there would be no “accomplishments” even if said accomplishments are boring mindless runs of the same raid over and over - and everything would be boring.

Giving everyone who asks everything they ask for would ruin the entire game. It’s absolutely okay and preferred that not everyone gets something they want. This whole thread is childish and entitled.

You mentioned Gladiator that’s a challenge not RNG, its like mage tower, challenges with deterministic rewards that you need to put real effort and any player with 1 or multiple characters can achieve.

Nobody is asking for anything for free, its asking for a just chance against the players time, there’s drop rates which are considered and others that you need multiple alts just to pull a sloot machine.

Just check other MMO reward systems and you’ll find a different kind of perspective, just check FFXIV on google and how some transmogs are rare but 100% drops, those are rare due to a challenge and RNG that’s a bad luck protection so the player could get it eventually.

The current desing will drive players away and won’t bring new ones.

That’s irrelevant, RNG or challenge doesn’t matter. I was just saying there’s things I want too that I won’t get. And that sucks, from my perspective. But if you look at the bigger picture you realize it’s better that way.

The only thing I openly oppose to my dying breath is FOMO. THAT is what will drive new players away, not a challenge (or an RNG challenge) that is still in the game. I would argue the shoulders still being obtainable and rare is actually good for the health of the game.

New players won’t be driven away from a game because they have to put effort towards something. That keeps people playing. New players WILL be driven away when they want something (like the Deathwing-lookalike mount that is completely unique and now unavailable) and yet never even had a chance to get it at all.

Making something rare easier to get is:

  1. Disrespectful to players who already have them. It’s like buying a TV for $500 and the next day it goes on sale for $100. How would you feel? That’s how players who sank time and blood into the grind would feel if they just gave Tusks away to everyone or made it easier to get. I have over 2000 runs total. Will YOU reimburse me my hundreds and hundreds of hours I sank towards doing nothing but SoO? I didn’t think so. I would rather not lose value on an item I earned, no sane person would.

  2. It will remove the unique factor of the transmog itself. You’re asking for a rare and awe-inspiring item to become commonplace for personal gain. Because YOU want to get it easier than other people before you.

If it was some sort of item necessary for progression I would agree. But otherwise, the game benefits from having extremely rare items for collectors to strive for. It’s not something everyone should have - that’s a GOOD thing - because nobody needs it.

So much this…there is no skill and challenge in farming this transmog…it’s just pure tedious grind.

In the same way that you think there’s value by farming this with multiple characters and wasting time on Blizzard bad desing instead of asking for a better chance so you can dedicate that time in other more rewarding gameplay, i’ll speak against MoP WB mounts or any low drop, they changed Mechadone achievement during 9.1.5, i already have it with all those really low drops, i could feel frustated against their bad design but i feel happy for the playerbase that wont deal with the same insane drops. But it remains with some effort, its not take this free.

Tusks could have a 0.04% that increase each kill by 0. 01 to a maximum of 2%, its still rare but you get a better chance, there’s a lot of ways to improve something for the players farming this with 1 character to armies of alts

Exactly its just level up a bunch of plate characters and roll a dice /pull a sloot machine.

I did it for a few months. Some weeks I did the heroic placeholder trick, so I would clear to the end with one guy and then swap them out for the Hellscream fight. Not sure how many total kills I have had yet, think I may volunteer to have myself committed if I ever add them all up.

Some weeks I would do the mythic version thinking I would have better luck and at least maybe get a mount or the little bomb pet.

Those weeks were the worst. That place really needs skips. Especially for the first boss, the tower and the treasure room.

Going from < 1% to 1% won’t exactly make them common. It will still take months for the average player without a fleet of alts cheesing the lockout.

You have no idea how long it takes someone to obtain them. Do you feel belittled when someone gets it in 10 tries because they got lucky?

Umm… probably more so because they are iconic than rare. Lots of folks like to emulate lore characters. It is why you see so many DHs with some variation of the name Illidan. There are plenty of super rare items in the game that no one talks about (including ones that aren’t obtainable anymore).

Again doubtful - plenty of folks want to look like Garrosh. Also, no one is asking for this to be the case.

Dont bother. In his head 1% is a obvious guaranteed drop.
It also boils down to:

Just like i said it was. Funny how that works .

Yes it does. It takes me about 50ish minutes to do it, may as well say an hour, and it’s the most tedious hour of my week.

I think SoO is arguably the best raid blizz has ever made, so there are less enjoyable farms, but still… a skip would be so amazing. Add it to the list of things they’ll never give us though right…

I would like to see the following changes.

For legacy raids, there is a 2x a week reset (or even daily). Plain and simple. It’s old content and doesn’t even pay out that much gold anymore…just let people farm whatever they want, whenever they want more or less within reason.

I’d love to see a “mog” setting that only guarantees you equippable and appearance-granting items at the cost of no other loot. You can keep drop rates low and even this means some bosses you may get nothing, but you can at least be assured anything you do get would be an unlock.

Allow us “some” way to mail items between characters. Maybe have a way to “capture” the appearance of the item in an account bound box that can be mailed to an appropriate character. It’s so friggen annoying to be after something and you run it on all applicable toons and don’t get it, just to get it on a different non applicable toon. I’d even be fine if this box has something like a 1 day cooldown so you just can’t just use it willy nilly.

There are others but that should do for now.

Fortunately the people who disagree aren’t the people you have to ask anyway. They are totally entitled to their opinions, but that’s about it.

I do think a slight bump in some rare drops would be cool. If not that, a skip option for the much older raids like Seige or Icecrown because OMG a minute of RP followed by two and a half minutes of MORE RP after killing your way to Arthas… I know the dialogue in Icecrown by heart. And not by choice.

Arguments similar to the ones you make are commonly used to defend FOMO. I am not sure why you have a problem with FOMO, but are okay with this.

To be fair, some of lore bosses in this game had a better drop rate of their weapons/armors than Garrosh’s Tusk.

Here comes Clark, the #1 Blizzard defender!

You speak as if the OP has enough gold to throw around and just buy them.
Mind sharing a screenshot of how much gold you have?

I have them, and I wouldn’t care if they increased the drop rate. I try not to base my own value on what others have.

I’m sorry for necro all but I’m incline to agree with this thread.

Lottery tickets and gambling are a tax on the stupid

What does that make the people farming these low % mounts/items🤣

They are entertained. That’s what we pay for. You maybe paying for something else, though.
