2-4% would be nice for RAID drops, where you can only hit them once a week.
World drops have to be adjusted relative to the scope of their farming.

I’d be fine with 1% for the raid drops, that’s still an extremely low % chance. But when it goes to 0.5% or less it’s in the realm of the absurd.
I only got the stupid Big Love Rocket last year after farming it since it was introduced into the game.
The ultra low drops are a strong factor in why I’m stepping away from the game for at least a while once my sub expires in 5 more days. It stops being fun and turns into a job once you’re using trackers or spreadsheets to log your daily/weekly attempts.
Yes, it does.
So don’t do that!
Just do what is fun and chuck the rest.
There are a lot of problems with this game but I swear half the problems players complain about they create for themselves.
IDK, I have a car and my great grandfather didn’t.
Him walking to school 8 miles a day is still impressive.
No it wouldn’t. They still have theirs.
i think everything in the game should have a 100% drop rate. no, 200%!
I don’t think he said that was the sole reason but it would be foolish not to consider it a contributing factor.
But the BMAH is fair? Especially when tusks were up on every single realm for over a week last year?
Tusks are a legacy raid drop item just like anything else. The concept of “muh excloosives” is toxic enough as it is already, and to add that onto legacy obtainable items is even more silly.
Thats the breaks. Youre the one who wants to be a completionist in a mmorpg.
You know whats funny? In bfa blizz buffed Ironhoof destroyer and Felsteel Annihilator drop rates and i’ve seen a total of 0 people crying about it.
Nice convo I saw on Twitter.

I mean, yes. it did. But also, you needed to clear H-25 LK for 25 consecutive weeks in order to give a mount to every raider. Not counting bench. Not many guilds were able to do that, let alone kill him in the first place.
I do know people that raided back then, and it took them nearly 10 years later to get the mount to drop for them. That is unreasonable.
I am pretty sure the tusks are a 1% drop since the personal loot revamp of 8.0 or w/e.
Or just add token drops from old raid bosses like 1 per boss and gate items behind 1000 tokens each. Obviously you would buy the shoulders then as all others would have dropped but that atleast would be a solution
You can’t increase the drop rate on EXCLUSIVE items… because then they’re not EXCLUSIVE!!
STUPID and utterly flawed argument. Because the exclusivity is inherently NOT there because the item in question is subjective. Not everyone wants it… so the fact it’s “exclusive” DOESN’T MATTER.
People are just so entrenched in their little ideas they can’t see the bigger picture for the game as a whole. Sub-1% drops rates are dumb, just as 100% drop rates are dumb. RATIONAL players aren’t asking to be GIVEN things, but the ability to work toward a goal is FUN. This endlessly farming 0.00009% drop rate items is NOT FUN.
Which do you think is better for a the game? Fun, or Not Fun?? This isn’t a tough question…
And yet, people keep vehemently defending the Not Fun option.
Every boss should drop a “token” or something. Once you collect 100, if you haven’t gotten the item already, you can just buy it. After 100 kills, doesn’t matter what it is, you’ve earned it.
That would be better. “Hey you farmed this raid for 3 months without the item drops, no worries here’s a bad luck protection so you can have eventually ”.
Obviously would never happen because people need that ego boost apparently.
Sort of.
People don’t inherently need that ego boost. Blizzard has nurtured that ego boost. That is the problem. They have purposely design the game to pit the haves against the have nots for years. So naturally, people are gonna riot when they have been brainwashed nurtured to believe this is the only way to validate all that time spent in this specific game.
Other games with bad luck protection (MMORPGs), thrive with little to no issue.
I gave up after 80 mythic argus for the scythe…
And the xavius shoulders… never dropped even after over 150 kills… though they had bad luck protection… I was able to get them by gambling my argunite shoulder tokens until I got them as it was a tiny loot table for leather shoulders in whole legion lol.
Wish such things would exist more.
Who are those people?
Just two people from the WoW fanbase on Twitter. One of them used to post a lot on the Story Forums.
